Well, if you think of them as heat sinks, they make perfect sense. Aside from making a larger target, they have visual 'birdlike - fear me' appeal as well as providing a MASSIVE amount of surface area to cool down a mech. That was my thought on why Trovic had huge wings... he also has a vent rating of 4!
The original Highlanders actually have bondsman in the CBT fluff. The most interesting case can be found in "Impetus to Warfare". Also, (now Paladin) Victor (Steiner-)Davion's chief of security was a bondswoman elemental during the civil war.
David if they make the Templar squat like they did the Warhammer I will be pissed. I hope they make it without giving it a stance that makes it look like its taking a dump.

I hear you. What is it with WK and "leaned-back" sculpts
(Warhammer, Sun Cobra), anyway? :ermm:
I am looking forward to the NON griffins and the Cyclops personnaly. I hope they make the Cyc look evey bit as intimidating as the Classic version. It may not have had much but it looked like a brick-poo-house.
I just hope that if there really is a templar in this set, the Swordsworn will get one. There are rumors floating around it might be the mail away from the Inquest 111. Anyway what I would like to see is it be either Ada Yung to finish out the Ghost Legion Assault Lance, or a Davion Guards mech. Maybe from Hasbani's lance. For stats...
Primary Balistic Armor Piercing 0/16" Range 5 Damage to start
Secondary Energy Pulse 0/12" Range 4 Damage to start
Movement 7 to start
Targeting 12 to start
Armor 22 Heavy
To clear clicks on heat dials with heat effects on third clicks and nasty effects on 4th and 5th clicks. Vent of 2.
300ish points
Wishful thinking I know, but here's hoping anyway...

(Once more, this is all that I can figure they would mean, I don't have an 'inside source' or whatever, and if you think I'm wrong, jsut wait and see. ~_^ [I very well could be! =P])

Now THAT would be a SWEET Templar! I'd be happy with those
stats with an 11 attack, even. ;)

auctually I believe those aren't wings at all, they are Laser heat sinks.
