I'm sure the Clans feel the same way! ;)
Seriously, though, I do hate the fact that my 3rd fave House -
Marik - got so badly screwed over in the Jihad. All because
that ####ed clone of Thomas Marik gave succor to the WOB
loonies!
Actually,. I used to be a straight up FS/GB player...but then I realized that EVERYONE PLAYED THEM.
So, I decided to play CC for a while. I loved them!
After that, I decided to go with an even smaller state. I thought the Taurians were neat b/c they hated Davion so much, but the whole "PARTY ALL THE TIME" ideal of the Magistracy was just too ridiculous and unlike me to let go of.
FWL took to me b/c of the quality of designs they had and the general idea of the nation.
Seriously David, reconsider that LAME-O Davion stance you take. The Concordiat is much more fun that the Lamey-Davies.

I know what you mean. I'm the same way with House Liao - I
don't dislike the people, just the leadership. Sun Tzu, in
particular.
Yep! I could definitely get used to it, too! So much better than
arguing! ;)
As for Kurita, I used to hate them even more than House Liao
(no, REALLY! :p ). However, when they were able to put aside
their differences with their age old enemy (Davion), joining
forces with them to fight the Clan Invasion, I gained respect for
them.
@Luftvier,
I'd LOVE it if WK introduced the Periphery states to MWDA,
especially the Taurians! Wanna commit sure suicide? Just
try to attack the Taurian capitol! No one's succeeded, yet!
They are bad-asses! :devious:

Alexandr Kerensky, conquered the entire Perifery, I believe that means he conquered those 'bad asses' lol.

The Periphery states then weren't what they are now. But, I'll
concede that point. Allow me to re-phrase - no one has
conquered the Taurian's since the Star League fell. Speaking
of that, what was happening back on Terra while Kerensky was
off pacifying the Periphery? Does the name Stefan Amaris ring
any bells? ;)
House Marik. House it self must be still alive and well althought there is no more FWL. Also one of my favorite regiments from BT2 was Rolling Thunder from Hussars of Regulus(i don't remember they number but there was campaing book from them).
With the introduction of JF that will make 11 factions thus far. Even if you leave out 2 factions per release from now on that still leaves you with 9 factions that you are pulling from. With only 4 units in a booster this makes even getting a single unit from any particular faction iffy at best. For newer players this could be a bit of a problem that turns them off to the game. Why spend all the money on boosters when you can never get any units for the faction you are collecting? You'd have to spend a huge amount of time trying to trade off everything in your boosters in order to get the stuff you need. Time spent doing that is time spent that you coulda used to play instead.
My point is ... if you continue to keep adding more and more factions you are going to have to start dropping more and more factions out of future releases. People were moaning how ROTS got zilch from the last set and HL got next to nothing. What happens when the next set comes out and a new faction is introduced but at the expense of 3 factions are totally unrepresented in the set?
Just pointing out that for every action there is a reaction. :)
I think that we all need to remember that the background and storyline is half of what makes this a fun game to play. I see too many posts saying "Not this because they're already too strong" or "Not that because everybody already plays them". If a certain faction has a huge following, isn't that MORE of a reason to give them an extended pool to choose from?
Along the background idea, lots of different factions make sense to introduce. House Steiner is all but publically funding the Stormhammers, so their introduction makes sense since they would finally take an outward hand in reclaiming worlds ceded to the Republic.
It's obvious that House Kurita has been interested in affairs with all the "O5P" reports that have been the unique's dossiers. House Davion can't resist making themselves known for long, since they can hardly pass up a chance to go after Liao again. And while House Marik may be outwardly a non-functioning entity anymore, what better chance to rise from the ashes when everybody else is looking in a different direction?
As for the groups not listed on the poll....Word of Blake has pretty much ceased to exist as an organized group, and Comstar is, well, Comstar. After the Jihad, does anyone think that if they tried meddling in things again, the rest of humanity wouldn't utterly destroy them for fear of a second Jihad? Clan Wolf could make a good response to the Jade Flacon's incursion, since they have pretty much hated each other since creation itself. The Rasalhague Dominion is someone I would like to see, but their appearance wouldn't really make much sense except as another response to the Jade Falcons.
I don't think the Periphery States have much chance of showing up, since they would have to cross alot of someone else's territory to get there. Except for the Magistracy of Canopus, but they're pretty much a part of House Liao anyway. A pirate group showing up to carve out some worlds would be pretty cool, especially since a few of the existing factions seem to be on their way out...possibilities there to have new versions of existing personalities, when a faction crumbles and a new one rises out of the dust.
Personally, I'd like to see House Steiner from those listed on the poll...but that's just my opinion....
