the Kurita zeus seems to go well with the shujin pilot and alpha strike - as the attack goes up after it is damaged the energy damage stays pretty constant at 2.

Assign +1 damage to the Roku and the Shiros to cover the advance and work with the heat dials of the other two. Use the Roku as a spotter for the Shiros and use the threat of the Zeus and Nova Cat to keep everyone away from the Shiros.
Greetings well after winning Justice in the marque and pulling 2 HK Hellions in said event to go with the HD Hellion I pilled in the other booster :nervous: I must say I truly liked how HK Units work. That being said Sunday I managed to pick up the Shiro's Yami & Pillar and have decided to go full bore HK.
My current question is I am playing in a 1500 point game next weekend and have decide to resurrect an old alliance from the 3025 era of CBT my plan is to run a House Kuritia/ House Liao army any thought on this one. I will post my preliminary army later this weekend. Look forward to your thoughts on this style army.
Playing faction pure yes ... HK needs some more units to flesh out the ranks. But currently ... IMHO, HK has the best mech in the game.

With her pilot she gives it one heck of an ability to negate her major weakness. But there are other pilots of note to put in:
Adam Stark to boost the mechs rather low starting attack.
Aiko to boost the mechs very low starting defense
But IMHO the most useful is Celina to boost speed by +3.
Ok I may be wrong so plz feel free to correct me. But as I understand the rules right now we can not put Non House Kuritia Pilot's into our mechs since we do not have a Merc Contract card & GS Recrutment Costs only work to put the faction symble on to a mech that does not have a Faction Symble already printeed on its base (i.e. all GS Mechs) and not onto the Pilot card its self. Or am I missing something
You can put gunslingers into factioned mech by paying the applicable recruit cost. The only exception is when a given faction is crossed out, in which case it is impossible to recruit them to that faction and so they can not be put in a mech of that faction.
By paying the Gunslinger recruitment cost, you are giving the GS pilot the Kurita Faction symbol, thereby allowing it to pilot any Kurita or non-faction mech. :)
I made this Shiro army up. I only have "Hashira". This ended up being the super Asian faction army.

Out-range the enemy, and swarm them with DF Shock Troops if anyone gets too close. I really wanted to add Vibroblade for anti-DF mongoose work but the Shocks can serve that purpose. If you're afraid of Sub-Zero Temps or a similar PC, an alt infantry build is:
Drop the 5 Shocks and add 3 DF Infiltrator Mk.II and one Elite Kurita Oni.
Guess our venue needs to take a look at the ROW Booklet a little better next time before we all try and figure out a rule question then. But hey sometimes you learn something new. Guess this is on of those new knowledge days thanks all.
I managed to score Wahab and his ride to add to my Yami and it's pilot. I played a 3 player game (yeah, a little unusual, but I was in the centre), and it seemed that the other two players were more interested in hitting each other!!! So my Yami sat back (he didn't move until the very end of the game) and Wahab did his damage to any unit that came close to my DZ. He almost got captured (#### his low defense), but I managed to get away with that and won the game!!!
Primarily I'm a SS/HD player, but I think I've found my secondary faction.
My main question is this... What's the best pilot/gear combination to put on Yami and Okami to fit within a 450 point game???
I have Aiko in Yami to give it the +2 to defense, but this works out to 32 points for the pilot... I can't think of anybody better to pilot it.
I use Wahab in his Okami plus evade to give him a 22 defense vs. ranged. It helped in my 3 player game a lot.
I use the Kaminari shiro with Celina santos and improved targeting. And now u have a mech with a 24 inch AO range with a 5 armor peircing 10 improved. And u could always use hk faction pride for 6 damage. But a faction pure hk army has no arty. I think thats one Bad mech
