I must point out something, at this point. There was mention of Salome Ward Kell's inability to become (shudders) pregnant, and that Jaime Wolf of the Wolfs' Dragoons "arrainged" for her and Morgan Kell to have children.
I believe the terminology was that she was unable to conceive. As such a blank "egg" was taken and imbued with her genetic legacy as would happen in a typical canister preparation.

Therefor, it appears that Phelan and Kaitlin Kell may actually have been Trueborn, in a mnner os speaking? There was much debate n this matter before my cryogenic statis period. To my knowledge, it was never determined. No matter, as Khan Phelan accomplished much, free or true. No one can belittle the value of trueborns, many have proven themselves.
There is record that she birthed them. That the means of fertilising the egg came from the eugenics programme does not change the fact that she bore and birthed them.
That makes Phelan Kell a freeborn in that he was birthed the "conventional" way and he was not birthed from a cannister.
As I have stated before Kotch , one can interpert Phelan's birth either way.
He was conceived through the eugenics program, making him of trueborn birth right and blood, but he was carried in a flesh womb and birthed as a freeborn.
It is up to the individual on how they perceive this information , and I can see how a Nova cat warrior who has spent most of his life serving the dragon would belittle something so important as Phelans bloodline and conception.

The Spheroids use artificial conception methods. You mean to say that those are also Trueborn, quineg?
(One so rarely gets the chance to say "quineg", it's the harder of the two to phrase the question for).
Phelan was Freeborn. He is recorded as stating he is freeborn. It is only the most deluded True that would try and depict otherwise.
I am Trueborn, of course, and my blood is True on both sides. Yet I have respect for Phelan as much because of his birth as for anything else. He is evidence that genetics can produce surprising results and further evidence for me of the need to maintain genetic diversity within any population.
With the sundering of the Clans, the need to ensure diversity within the genepool of warriors is more challenging than ever before. It is harder now than it ever was to take the strains of genetic heritage from another Clan to merge with that of our own. But it was such unions that gave rise to some of the strongest genetic legacies ever seen.
Phelan is proof of that.
I will even defend my beliefs in a Circle of Equals. I believe we need to extend the gene pool.
Deathbringer surveys the crowd, longing to speak after a long period of silence. Eyeing the scum that had polluted the hall with his speech, he quietly walks behind him, unholstering a small yet razor sharp knife. Putting it to the back of the man's neck, he whispered "If you value your life, you shall make no further comment and will leave our hall immediately." He applied a small amount of pressure to the knife and turned the man toward the door, and gave him a small push. Re-holstering the knife, he walks to the center of the hall. He clears his throat and speaks: "Khan Timberwolf 1 Kell, if none accept the position of loremaster, it would be an honor to be trained for the position. If the position is taken, it is fine, and I shall go about life as usual, but if not, hey, training a freebirth to be a loremaster has to be just a tad better than not having one at all, quiaff?
Ah, it is good to see so many Wolves around even after our Faction appears to have been abandoned by WK... :) Machts Nichts, while we breathe we will fight. I'll keep my WiE avatar until the WiE come in as a Faction or are reunited with the other part(s) of Clan Wolf. Phelen Ward (Kell) looks to be the first of them, reminding us of our past... Hopefully there will be more coming in from the ARDC.

Threaten me again, surat, and the protection of the hall aside you will not live to speak again.
I come here because I have been a guest in your Hall before and was welcomed (by some at least). If I am no longer welcome then I shall depart. And whilst my past experience of your kind has been favourable, I will not leave under threat from any so unworthy as to threaten like a common thief or assassin.
I have respect for the Raven. He at least threatens me to my face rather than skulking in shadows. He challenges me, warrior to warrior.
And then you have the gall to stand before the Wolves in the Hall and claim right to the post of Oathmaster? Were I a Wolf I would challenge you to a Trial of Grievance for the presumption. Though it is no business of mine, I may yet.
Before I bid this Hall farewell (all deliveries have been made by now), I would like to take this opportunity to tell that Nanhold Party Services Unlimited is not only the best supplier of alcoholic beverages and catering services in the Inner Sphere and beyond, but NPSU is also the sponsor of The Nimball Strikes Back. Since this hip & happening new Nimball competition was started by a Clan Wolf warrior, I was wondering if there are any in this Warrior's Hall who might be interested in joining the competition.
Toward the back of the Hall Forsaken sat on the floor with his back against the wall which holds the various faction banners of the warriors gathered here. His forearm rests on his uplifted knee, and he holds his drink by the top of the glass, idolly spinning it in thought. His eyes are lost on the floor, and his attention only breaks momentarily when his other hand rested on the Guass Pistol on his thigh and he resisted the urge to put a bullet between Warboss' eyes. Surveying the gathering his eyes fell back to the floor as he returned to his thoughts.
For as much confidence and pride as I may have, I've began having doubts on whether or not I will come out victorious in the Trial of Grievance against Golden_Warrior. If I fail, not only will this result in a loss of honor for your fellow commander Anastasia Kerensky, but also Recon_Raven who has bestowed his trust upon you. Also with this new assingment that Kahn Kell has put upon us to eridicate a Falcon force, or face Dezgra...I cannot fail. He thought to himself looking up at the ceiling he sighed heavily and raised his drink to himself before finishing it.
"Here's to Honor, The Wolves, and the life of a Warrior."
He mumbled quietly as he rose to his feet and dusted himself off slightly

Raven looks directly into the eyes of the Trueborn, and musters what will he has not to roll is eyes. Moments like these can define a leader, or worse yet, the perception of a leader. In a voice loud enough for everyone in the Hall to hear, he proclaims:
"The Khan, nor myself need any assistance. Wolves choose and Wolves walk away from the aftermath of those choices under their own steam. The Khan merely wishes to celebrate this Gathering of Wolves by inspecting the shine on our collective boots, that we show pride in the pawprints made into this Hall on this day.
I would strongly suggest that those whom have tarnished combats take the time to shine their own, before the Khan finds you wanting, and his Wrath be yours to suffer!"
Under the weight of the stare of their newly appointed Sa'Khan, many Wolves take the opportunity to inspect their boots. In that moment, a quick wink from Raven is enough to signal Aramis to spirit their intoxicated Khan back to his quarters.
*stares at Aramis, with a quick wink*
*anyone who loos up at the Khan gets a burning stare*
