Kev Rosse was killed in "Heretic's Faith" by a sniper. Who the sniper was is still up for debate. As for seeing OEJ.................I think it's a good bet that we'll see him probably in Outlaws (with hopefully Cynthia Kelly and Dagger Di Jones!). Later
Warhawk out.
I remember some one on the WK forums came up with the possible idea that Bannson's could merge with Clan Sea Fox and become one hell of an unstopable megacorp of sorts.
I rather like the idea, and the way I see it all infantry and tanks would have dials like normal Bannson's units, while all the mechs of this new enterprise would be like Sea Fox mechs (prime 2 clicks in, still no repair markers, still no salvage, and still a little/lot fragile).
It actually makes a lot of sense for the two to come together, they're already essentially equivalents of each other for Inner Sphere and Clans...I know if it happened I'd switch to them as my new main force. Definately going to try and keep Bannson alive when the story events come.
The latest army I fielded was for a three player unrestricted. We played on a 3' x 6' table with two pieces of terrain each. Special rule was that only the lowest points against each player were scored for VC1 and VC3. So say you killed 159 points of player 1 and 19 points of player 2, only the 19 points would be scored for your VC1. Anyway my army consisted of;
There were no PC or MC in effect. There was a large blocking in front of my DZ as well as a blocking in front of both my opponent's DZs. The rest was a couple of elevated terrain features, two around the opponent to my right's DZ and the other by the opponent to my left's DZ.
"Blackout" Malice
>Boris Vaseliv recruited to Sea Fox
WH Jackalope
Merc Fulcrum Heavy Hovertank
4 Merc Infantry (I think it was two Fenrir, a Salamander, and a PAL Suit, but I am not sure)
I got first turn and advanced my mechs and infantry toward the middle, leaving my repairbot behind the large blocking in front of my DZ. Both my opponents followed suit with Boris slowly plodding toward the middle and the three Mojilnors quickly outdistancing the R10.
I then ran on of my Solitaires into my Vasilev's DZ, just out of his range, while advancing the other infantry and Solitaire to threaten Bonnila and her forces. Boris moved toward my Solitaire, which his Jackolope assaulted and missed (24 is the magic number), while his support screened him from the rest of my forces. The Mojilnors moved in to battle, with the R10 hurrying to catch up.
I debated just running away with Petros and her Solitaire, but instead stuck around to nail the Jackalope with her secondary lasers. I moved Turner to threaten the rear arcs of the Mojilnors from a piece of high ground, while moving the Patchitman and the Shock Troop/Fa Shih formation toward the leftern DZ. Boris decided to shoot a Mojilnor and hit, crippling it, while the Jackalope and support rested. Two of the Mojilnors turned to end Turner's life and heat themselves up causing shutdowns on both. Not wanting to risk the same fate the remaining light mech cooled its heals, while the Gnome BA advanced in an effort to get into the fight.
With her support dusted, Selene beat feet toward the leftern DZ and the rest of my forces, followed by my ATVs. The Minigun/Cutter formation tied up the Fulcrum and infantry. It was not to be, however as the Fulcrum easily broke. The formation had to split up though, leaving Boris' forces low on orders. The remaining infantry tried to reach the shut down Mojilnors in hopes of capturing under cover from Peacemakers heavy fire, which crippled another Mojilnor. With her forces in disarray, Bonilla started back up and looked toward the R10 and Gnome BA for support. The R10 moved to threaten Selene and her Solitaire and the Gnome BA intercepted one of Boris' little helpers.
Seeking a bigger bonus cut, Petros tried to pulse the R10, but instead heated her mech into shutdown. The Ratchetman moved to repair the Solitaire after its coming baptism of fire, using the light mechs bulk to shield itself. The Miniguns opened fire on the still based Salamander BA, knocking it around, but failing to kill it. Boris worked his way into the action, shutting himself down in the proccess, while the Fulcrum finished the damaged Mojilnor. With limited options Kelly ordered the R10 to disgorge the Kelswa, who shot up the prone Solitaire, causing intense damage.
Luckily for me, super repair was on the way as I rolled a critical hit, followed by a six on the repair die. Selene got her mech back on line, and my infantry continued to make a nuisance of themselves by threatening the leftern DZ and finally finish off the Salamander BA. Boris worked to get his mech back in the green and his support moved toward the emerging firefight in front of the leftern DZ. The Kelswa continued to fire at Selene's mech, but thanks to some evasive maneuvering, the shot went wide. Kelly rushed to support her forces, while the Gnome BA duked it out with their competition.
Thanks to some TSM, the Ratchetman was able to bring its repair claw to bear in hostile action against the Kelswa, but to no effect, shutting itself down in the process. The Solitiare extracted vengeance on the Kelswa, nocking it around with the secondary lasers. The Shock Troop/ Fa Shih squad jumped into the Kelswa's rear arc and prepared to make it pay for showing itself, while the rest of the infantry moved toward the fight. Boris got his mech started up and fumed over his poor heat sinks, while the Fulcrum and his remaining BA rushed to attack. The Kelswa shot the Patchitman (who foolishly underestimated the minimum range) for 4 damage, and Kelly moved to attack the Fa Shih holding it in place.
Selene moved her Solitaire into the DZ to catch a breather, while the Hatchetman worked to start up, under whithering fire from the Kelswa, who hit again for 4. Kelly cooled her mech, not wanting to leave herself stranded with Boris rushing to get into the fight.
With corporate authority, the Fa Shih placed the Wolf Hunter tank crew under arrest. The Hatchetman got itself started back up, and prayed to survive. Boris slowly made his way forward, led by the Fulcrum and some infantry. Kelly assaulted the Fa Shih in a effort to release the tank but with no success.
Selene got back into the action, scalding Bonnilla's Mojilnir with laser fire. The Hatchetman cut and ran, trusting its Harjel II system to see it safely off. Boris picked off a few stray infantry while his support caught its breath. In a vain attempt to save her tank crew, Kelly smacked the Fa Shih around with the hammer of Thor, while the R10 took a pot shot at the retreating medium mech.
Bonnila's efforts were in vain as the Shock Troopers summarily executed the WH tank crew and took control of the assault tank. The Hatchetman returned the R10s fire, scoring a direct hit, salvaging the transport and further repairing itself. Selene destroyed Bonnila's Mojilnor. The remaining infantry tried to stop Boris from making it into range but were not successful, thanks to his support. Vasilev displayed the cool thinking that has made him a legend, taking careful aim and turning the Kelswa into a smoking hole with one shot. The R10 moved to keep Selene occupied.
Careful of the heat she was generating, Selene vented her mech while the Rathetman moved to get out of Boris' line of fire. Fearful of repeating his earlier heat management transgressions, Vasilev cooled his heals for the time being, while the Fulcrum rammed the R10 destroying the damaged transport.
As the Bannson's Raiders forces pulled out to their dropoint, Selene took one last parting shot at the Fulcrum, melting it into a puddle.
And that is pretty much how it happened. Things I learned from this are that Harjel on the BR Hatchetman rocks, as it has no salvage or repair markers, and Solitaires are the boss (I already knew this, but confirmation is key).
i do play BR as my primary faction then WH , WD, SW, CWie, GS MERC, HD/SS
i made the BR LAM in the modding contest tied for second place.
long live BUU !
i figured that Mr Bannson financed the r&d of the ARES mechs
while the CSF supplies the clan tech , weapons , and armor and other materials needed for construction.
