You know, I could barely understand your post Tallyn.
So, you're saying that you're going to use Warder to heal, and if he comes under attack he can defend himself? If so, here's the problem:
Why are you letting your healer get attacked??????
With a EGM army, as Wkura showed us, it is very easy to surround her so it is IMPOSSIBLE to ram her. Ever think of that? If she is surrounded, no ram for you. And good luck with F/L, 19 defense. Same with MB. You'd need a unique to hit that most of the time. Unless you use formation F/L, in which case I'll base you with my more sturdy melee figs, and you'll have to push to get the first strike. And most F/Lers that are nons cannot take alot of hits.
Tallyn123, you are extremly arrogent. I mean really, really bad. And arrogence is a very bad thing in MK. Ever seen a guy walk into a venue acting like he was the national champion and get stomped? I have. Arrogence leads you to Timmyness.
In the future, use common curtosy and use punctuation. Oh yeah, respect other people's opinions as well.
Well Elfish sage you cant use f/l in a formation. I dont know where you got that my dad told me you cant. 42up whats with your name. 1st i said specifically in one of my earlier posts taht warder and egm have the same pt cost and its not exactly hard to figure out. Tell me why wouldnt you want a healer to attack?
b/c when your healer gets attacked that means that the enemy is going in for the kill and they do not want you to be able to heal.
There is one thing I can give the warder-it can kill a weak shade in one turn without the aid of a centaur. But when the shades start coming that means your main troops are being hit. And once your offensive pieces are gone, there is little a sub-op attacker (b/c that is what it is without anything to heal) can do to stop from dying.
The points put into the fig to make it offensively stronger could have been used to bolster ones own optimal offensive.
As for my name-It has nothing to do with 7up or the meaning of the universe.
Don't worry, if the boy gets too arrogant, I'll smack him down...again. Can't do anything about that punctuation though. I dropped him pretty hard. But I'm still of the opinion that a healer can serve more than one purpose. Sometimes I include one I don't need as bait. And I mean for it to get hit. Of course, that doesn't mean I'd use a 68 point fig for this purpose, but it shows that they can serve more than one use.
As for surrounding the EGM to avoid Ram, another player played the egg army against me on Saturday. I found the weakest link and cracked my way through. It wasn't that hard, and it only required a couple of my figs, while the rest waited for their scrambled eggs to be served up.
Quick note, Tallyn is correct, you cannot FL in a formation.
I still think the Emerald Warder could be a good fig, but it doesn't fit my playing style and probably won't see play until I'm playing a fun game at home. Perhaps I'll beat Tallyn with it this week?
Troll Chieftan is still more fun to play, and a better offensive piece by far. And some people are not good at initiating combat. For these people, I recommend the EGM army, as it's simple and allows them to sit back and wait for the offensive minded player to pit his offensive skills against their defensive skill. Also a good combo for beginners to give them a fighting chance.
As a side note, I'm bringing the boy with me to Origins. So, congratulations, you'll all have the opportunity to prove your side in person in only 17 more days! I'll make sure he doesn't accidentally leave his Warder at home.
Also, don't be too hard on the boy. His mother was a hamster and his father smells of elderberries.
