There are quite a few subtle things that get overlooked tho. Like Magic Immunity; the defense type differs from the SA (at least the last time I asked). Also I can't tell you how many times I've heard Magic Blast called Mage Blast in the past.
I too found myself wanting a little more complexity to add realism. However I feel many of the changes could have been effected by simply adding SA's. I like the objective tokens and I'm glad the victory conditions are changed from the demo rules. At this point the only change I don't like is Charge/Bound and the speed at which those units move. From working with the PCAF you see in my sig I can understand wanting to change the way certain SA's behave, because the cost for them was not properly being calculated and figures like Skyros and Corpheus were still undercost compared to their performance. That is to say that if Skyros had a 20in movement without Charge he would cost more than 10in movement with Charge.
Constructed terrain I like tho the access point rule change does concern me a little.
The basic idea of Relics and Items I like but from what I have seen of them thus far I fear the effect they will have on the game, as the powers they grant seem far beyond any previously seen power crawl.
Domain cards really make army building a challenge. Too much so I fear. It means players must build an army expecting everything so no ture disadvantage or advantage can take place. It will not prevent standard army archtypes from forming. All competative armies will begin to lean towards the swiss armyknife style, and the environment will again begin to stagnate. Just my opinion but at the very least it adds more random chance to the game, just changing domain cards can completly change the power of one army over another.
The dislike of 2.0 isn't just one reason, it is a combination of things with the rules and the environment. I like MageKnight but it seems that in order for the environment to be 2.0 friendly I and one other would have to quit the game so the other players can enjoy it. At least at a tournament level. Even then many may choose to not play 2.0 because I am a friendly person and they don't want to see me quit.
