See, I'm just not sure about using multiples of the same fig giving the same discount. It SEEMS that way, but the wording is slightly ambiguous.

Regardless of the strengths or weakness of AC cards, or what you think of them it seems like it's both counterintuitive and against the intentions of the designers to be able to call five Harka Orcs or five Delphana Masters 'The Order of the Crescent Sword'. I mean they're called Adventuring Company cards and the advert material keeps saying they're to promote mixed groups (or words to that effect) - remember all those comparisons to dungeons teams?

If the wording isn't clarified to state this I'd lay good odds this will be errata'd in the FAQ around when Omens comes out. Or that's my bet anyway.

Iron_Mongrel, I think it is pretty clear in the preview that you can use 5 of the same figures. Whether the preview is against the intent of the designers, I don't know.

It's hard to form an opinion on ACs from just one card, but here's some thoughts:

A simple new mechanic. Everything's right there on the card and the only thing you got to remember is everyone in your army can formation. Awesome. If only all MK mechanics were so easy.

The cohorts can be good in encouraging the use of some less popular figs, but I'm leary of giving an ability for free. I think there should still be a minimum cost to play the card, no matter how many cohorts you bring.

And kennetak (?) brought up an interesting point about retirement. How many cohorts will be unusable if MK continues on it's retirement schedule? I'm predicting they'll put the brakes on retiremnet once the last of 1.0 is shelved. (With Omens release?)

Keep in mind, the actual text for the rules regarding Adventuring Companies has not been released yet :) I'm sure when it is, things regarding the multiple-figures issue will become more clear.

This expansion has some great potential when looking at the basic info we have.

1 .. Companies (from first appearance) give WK the opportunity to re-introduce Conquest in a big way.

2 .. Additional MS opens the door to re-introducing Dungeons.

Now, if only we can convince WK to make the in-pack LE's Heroes, we have it sorted. Standard Uniques are as they always have been. Prize LE's are as always but the in-pack stuff has levels and stat's that are more relevant to Dungeons. I'm going to copy this to a new Dear Wizkids thread :)
