I would of loved to have had the the keys to my dad's SUV at eleven, Heck I'm 25 now and he still won't let me touch the thing. I just want to see if it can do all those cool things it does in the commercials. Like drive over mountains up to the ocean beach where there are at least two dozen attractive women in bikinis fawning over my car! Not to mention lead the campaign for left on red and biggest car goes first!
A powerful tool in the wrong hands can be dangerous, theymay use it more destructively than it's original intent, perhaps some netdeckers may play the deck better than it's creators.
Great post guys, Gambit sorry you won't see me there I don't get out much. Liked the post though.
samuri wolf haveyou posted on the screen namethread yet?
Gone a day sent to page two. I too wish to dunk like Mike.
Or I used to. We once went to Dunkin Donuts after a hard day of modeling briefs and I found out something horrible.
That (Insert Random Flinstone rambling here) He double dips, now I only wish to dunk like Mugsy Bouges.
Seriously though anyone else have thoughts relevant to the discussion at hand. Any one els want to post a pro netdeck arguement it's getting lonely here. Anyone else want to tell me if I'm dead wrong I've got my kevlar body armor card around my neck and don't mind takin some flack.
I just think that almost any mentality that starts to deny ideas and constricts free thought is not conducive to anything.
Almost like when people who are told that something is impossible, and they strive to invent, or do it just to prove the opposite. However, think of the many before him who quit beforehand because of the 'bug in their ear'
Some will always strive to defy those who said it can't be done, even then many of these may still fail, though some will find success. The vast majority won't even bother...
Never thought of it quite that way.
Post are few and far in between here so...
It looks like it's about time to wrap this thread up then,
I'll continue tomonitor trends and speak up from time to time.
Until then remember this is just a game, a great game, but a game all the same. So remember to have fun and help out anyone who wants to get into the game. For all those who take themselves too seriously I leave you with the words of my ex girlfriend.
"You're just a big kidplaying woth his blocks."
Ofcourse I corrected her immediately with:
"I'm just a big kid playong with his CARDS."
It is but a matter of time before the MTG people turn this game into MTG.... I fear that netdecking is a thing we cannot avoid.
I hate the concept and quit magic for the same reason. It just felt wrong to buy someone elseīs deck I wanna make my own decks. I like to read the comboīs and all, but ripping the deck right out of the printer is just uncreative and banal.
Unfourtunatly it is the tendency of any great game and I think there will be netdecking as long as there is VS.
The real responsibility for avoiding it is ours.
If you donīt like the concept, donīt do it.
Sure youīll be whacked at every single match, but one day you win. And wouldnīt it be so much cooler and satifactiorary to win with a deck YOU thought out and YOU build and only YOU know how is played.

No Fear! I would be willing to bet that it never happens, my friend. The basic mechanics and the specialized brains in development will avoid it at all costs. Just watch.
Almost reminds me of the comparison of people who play sports and people who don't. The sports-person will inherently work better in a team situation and handle competitive endeavors more easily.
If you lose all the time, your "one" win really doesn't matter.
Do whatever you want, just don't throw around judgments on people who beat you all the time.
I'm actually out of pro netdecking arguments for the moment,
it's not easy arguing the otherside of an issue. If someone would like to take up the mantle for awhile feel free, consider the thread yours!
Just try to keep it on topic, all you wacky jackers out there I'm looking in your direction.
Anyone who takes a deck card for card without playtesting is an idiot unless they are an amazing player.
That's why the netdeck complaints are without merit.
People who are really good at this game playtest WAY MORE than 99% of the people who play. There are a few great CCG players who can show up and win with any deck.
Coming from a guy who had a lot to say about the one-game format, I'm surprised with you.
But half of the Tier 1 mentality is just like you. guys that post that not only are they a Vs. Judge, but passed it with 100%. Does it really even matter that you got a perfect score, so much that you had to put it in your sig??? Have you even judged a local tourney, let alone an event??
But it's that mentality that gets people from even trying out what is to be had out ther. That "quit whining and play Common enemy if you want to win" mentality is just too much.
When Yugioh was extremely broken you could ONLY hate the game, because each player had obvious choices on which ONE deck (chaos) to play. But this game is so much more diverse, and so not broken, that for people to make other player's vision so short-sighted as to not look at the whole cardbase is just outright stupid.
I like that there's a variety of decks out there. It means you have to plan for more than just the netdeck Common Enemy and Teen Titans decks. It forces you to look at your cards and set up hard scenarios you'll need to fight your way through. It also makes you have to play a game based more on risk analysis... this is something that I find a lot of people don't quite understand, and a lot of mistakes are made over not assuming your opponent might have the right card to stop your plan.
To just mindlessly netdeck is dumb. A winning player could take a deck someone else made, look into it, and understand the dynamics crucial to its success. For some decks, this is easier than others. Anyone can play a Big Brotherhood deck well, as well as FF Beats. Decks like Brave & the Bold or some of the esoteric Shimmer abuse decks, on the other hand, are very hard to understand and play right. But when you get them to work, it's all worth it.
A lot of it comes down to what you want out of the game. I really enjoy tweaking decks, rather than building them. It really irks me that this sort of skill is so often subordinated to the uncomromising zeal of those who will never play a card that has made a top eight before (OK i am exaggerating but i have a lot of frustration here!).
I find taking a netdeck within an established metagame and finding how it works at its ocre and improving on that most satisfying. I can see the other side of the argument. I played TT to the final of the Sydney 10K, and i was able to beat CE in best of three (!) for themost part becuase i ahd tested a lot and knew what to do when they didnt just draw the nuts on me. However, is till lost the final to a deck which has since been recognised as a very favourable matchup. This had a lot to do with the fact that Fearless Knights/KnightLight was an unknown factor and even after seeing the decklist with seeming randomness such as Press the Attack it took me a while to work out how to play it.
The point is Rogue strategies still need a defined metagme to have any chance of winning. I haven't seena nyone running Skrulls (From Day one!) and defending that deck to the death. The nature of the game is that the affiliations will always build themselves toa certain extent. I thinkthe distinction between Rogue and Netdecking is very slim on most occasions, and that playing a deck with Garth and Fizzle does not always = Brave and the Bold.
Without rogue deckbuilders like Ben Kreis formats become stale; without Netdecking formats become random. There is a naturally symbiotic relationship at work here.
