I got into the weirdest life gain war... where we both had 9 drop galactus and redshift.... and we kept gaining each others life point totals when they came back into play... he only won cuz he got worldeater apparatus... :(
I was playing a Glock on Glock mirror match. We practically mirrored moves except I played Grodd on 6 instead of Sinestro (Which is secret Tech). Turn 7 time was the last turn of time. I brought in Black Hand and so did he. Then I stole his Black Hand with Gorilla Grodd and went up to 130 something :) to win the gain war.

I was playing a Deadpool lock deck using the Bounty Hunt engine for card draw, and my opponent had a Moon-Knight-Attacks-Four-Times SF/Defenders deck.
Turn five, his init, and I haven't drawn Deadpool yet. I have the rest of my combo, but the main attraction isn't there. I'm about to lose, because I've already been pounded for a lot of break. My opponent recruits Moon Knight, equips him, gives him four Backup powers.
Crap, I says.
And then... he Substitutes Spider-Hulk in for Bag-Man. Removing a character from play in so doing. Putting a counter on Bounty Hunt. Putting... a SECOND counter on Bounty Hunt. I draw two cards.
I've had several occasions where playing Ganthet on turn 7 if I had the off-initiative has allowed me to go to the next turn, despite being at less than zero at the start of the recovery phase. Because of him, I Top-8'ed a sealed PCQ.
Playing X-men sealed Turn 7 i'm way ahead let my opp. change plays like three times becuase i'm gunna crush no matter what...................Except putting Piper behind Hemmingway when it's his ittish and he has Juggernaut!! Hmm can't reinforce........Juggernaut stuns both lose by 3. I figures Jeff or Nick would have posted this already!!!!!
Aleast i'm not one away from the prizes LOL:p
That was the single worst build phase I've ever seen in my life.
Marvel Avengers is fresh out of the press and I was drafting. Now since the set was brand new, I find some cool looking Masters of Evil cards that KOd stuff so I go with MoE curve (yeah, not so good). I also think for some reason I could win on turn 6 and decided to go with evens this tourny (another not so good idea).
Well, my first opp misses drops and I win my first game and go to the second 1-0. We're trading blows. We go to turn 6 and I go all out to try to end the game, just like planned, but can only bring my opp to 2. I'm at less than 10 and don't have a 7 drop for next turn, so I know I'm finished. What the hell was I thinking, thinking I could win on 6?
"I guess I lose..." I mutter, upset at my poor judgment. But, looking around, I noticed I was holding that MoE card that lets you look at the top cards of your deck and put one in your hand if you KO a character.
"I don't know why I'm doing this, but I'm dead anyway..." So I KO a character, and there I see...possibly the 30th card added to my draft deck...Insect Swarm.
I was in an 8-player multi-player game, and, unbeknownst to us, someone had Amazo.
Turn 8 comes around. He drops Amazo. I have something like 9 people on my board (I swarmed hidden on 7), and I had been shoving my deck into my KO'd pile for most of the game.
I smile and drop Psycho Pirate, and then dare him to swing his 78 ATK (or so) Amazo into him. He does.
2x Cover Fire for +36 DEF. KO Floronic Man to bring Cover Fire back. +52 DEF. That made Pirate 69 DEF. Sorcerer's Treasure gave me another +16 DEF (Floronic Man had had range due to Sniper, so my bonus dropped from 18), putting me at 85. When he tried to pump even higher than that, I threw down a Strength of the Grave, putting 20 characters in my deck and knocking my DEF to 105. He gave up.
I ended up actually winning that game because everyone helped each other in taking down Amazo, so I was the only one who didn't take damage that turn.
It is either a punch to the face which lasted me a turn.
or
Poisoning their drink while they search for their 7 drop which lasted the whole game.
You decide!
In 10k Minneapolis there was a Glock on Glock game. The judges were very close to tears, especially since this was before King Galactus and it was going to go on forever. Somehow they got to like Turn 11 after the final score was something around 215 to 130.
In the last round of a regional I used my randomly borrowed Mobilize to search for a power up for Juggernaut, avoiding the stun. Juggernaut then proceeded to rampage for the win.:D
I was playing a version of TNB.. and my opponent was playing just a straight curve xmen beatdown build... it was turn 3 and my attack... i had 2 x the new brotherhood up on table[and 1 x flying kick facedown]..i attacked with avalanche and stunned his 3.. i pumped 2 x so i dont get stunned back.. and i also exhausted his 2 drop... he passes goes to turn 4... i topdecked sabretooth and he topdecks his 4 drop aswell.. we play our turns and he attacks.. i re-enforce and take little damage until the last attack he beat me to the face for about 30.. if he could of pumped 2 more times he could of won and he could only do it once.. so he pumped and i was at 1 to his 25... turn 5... i drew my 2.. and got 3rd new brotherhood and my now 3rd copy of air strike.. i place new brotherhood down and recruit magneto... and its his turn he hit his 5 drop... he only had 1 resource facedown.. my attacks.. magneto eshausted his 4 drop in the center of his 3 and 5... cant re-enforce now that i know of... crimson comando goes after his 3 drop.. stuns.. causes mroe then 3.. everyone gets + 1 / + 1...sabretooth goes after his 5 drop..i flip my 3rd new brother hood.. sabretooth is now sitting at 19 / 10 [ crimson comando helped with the + 2 / + 2 ].. and he ate it .. i played air strike and replaced flying kick and top decked my 4th new brotherhood.... sabre tooth alone caused 29 breakthrew.. magneto goes after the 5.. i flip my genosha and draw 4.. i now have all 4 copys of new brotherhood up on the field.. ready if it went another round.. but i knew it wouldnt...i pump the sh*t out of magneto using 2 x savage beatdown [ i drew one from genosha... ] and pumped twice with 2 copys of magneto from my hand.. final score... my -10..his
- 45..... he was very shocked as was i..i didnt think i could do that much damage... but with magneto sitting at + 8 attack with new brotherhood.. and sabretooth at + 8 aswell... they were monsters... my version of TNB is now retired.. im giving everyone else a change at my local HL.. a chance to win... but with my underworld deck.. its been awefully tough to do..
