Exaclty the LIMITED is the most important thing in this game to learn . You need a team or at least a place to practice draftin . Or you will never have TRUE success , true you can get lucky in a draft with a set you have never actually drafted. but being consistent at it is a lot better than going in hoping to get lucky and I learned that hard lesson myself. What good are articles? Why not get your own idea of what is good.
And "pro's" are not always the best at drafting , U need to find your own groove and what works for them may not work for you .
The biggest thing in draft is your decisions . Sometime its the opening pack that will make or break you . What happens when you get 2 power house cards in your opening pack that you have heared are good . But since you havent tested at all you will have to guess which one is better . There are things you can only learn from actually doing it .
But if you disagree then thats your choice and all I have to say is GOOD LUCK .
What good are articles? What good is learning from pros? Everything is a resource you can use to get your 'own idea of what is good'.
Finding your own groove is not a bad idea at all, like you said. But there are obviously some archtypes and cards that you can learn allot about from info online and watching players better than you in real life. I learned more about avengers from talking to a couple of better pros than myself before the draft on day two than I learned from doing ten drafts on my own. Granted I cant say one is more usefull than the other, but for myself I know that I am not good enough or smart enough to figure out all the good stuff on my own.
I set up a group for the people I have talked to about sharing our knowledge and Playing on the pro circuit without a team. We need to prepare for the next PC and although many of us made day two and even made the money we still were not as prepared as other teams. If there are any pro-circuit players who are interested in forming and informal group to discuss tech, strategy and play skills please contact me and I will give you an invite to the ‘Lone wolf’ Group.
