Makes me think of SFX Control, only without the suck.
and why should he continue to play out an already bad matchup when the guy is running 34782634872346827634 betrayals as well? Just about everything Mr. Titans can play wrecks him, so why waste the time thinking? I'm not going to question the guy for his decision. He apparently seems happy enough with it.
Yes hats off to that kid Kakarot not only did he play a brand new inventive deck he played it very well. Enough for him to make second place. And on him scooping its called knowing your limitations. If you look at his deck (dont look too hard its 10 teams!!!) betrayls hose him and then add terra to the mix he would have been wasting his time if he had no V's in his hand.
So he made the choice to play again and win some more. I would have done the same thing.
congrats dude and congrats to everyone else you top 8.
Does anyone have an explanation for the single Stormfront-1 in the t8 Good Guys deck? It's probably just a location team-up, but it seems so random to include that Thunderbolts card when Metropolis would do just as well.
On the name Chicken Supreme, I always thought that playing with no cards in your hand was kind of like playing Chicken, daring your opponent to see what exactly is layed down in that resource row. Like driving towards a cliff full bore and seeing who hits the brakes first . Risky strategy, but huge rewards if it pays off.
Or hell, maybe the first guy to play it succesfuly was just hungry.

It's searchable via New Era, and Team-Up which prevents some effects.
I wasn't there at the end of day two, but I heard that Kakarot also went on to win the constructed PCQ ... which isn't a shabby way to make up for conceeding the final.
As for the Kang City player mentioned on the first page. I played him in the final round. Jon was 4-0 at the start of the day apparently and ended up losing the rest. He was a young-ish kid. He played well in our game and was the best of opponents in terms of attitude and politeness. He'll get better as he gets more experience.
Finally, as the guy who did Metagame coverage prior to the fellow who did the Sydney $10K, I can tell you it's a hard job and the rewards are not great. In the end I gave it away so that I could play more (being the local TO meant I was missing out almost across the board) and spend more time with my wife at home. I think Enchante does a good job given the circumstances and his "qualifications" and that he'll also get better with experience. I think I heard on the day that he was having computer difficulty too, which makes the whole job a lot more difficult.
Anyway, I'm just trying to encourage people to be charitable.
As as aside, Sydney $10K was heaps of fun and extremely well run. It was a good weekend all round.
- Randall & I obv had splits, and I was keen to play a relaxed deck like Glock in the pcq (which was starting 15mins after the finals). Betrayal isn't that bad, the matchup just isn't that good, and thus Randall should be taking the trophy regardless (i don't want to lug that #### home afterall).
-Randall ended up playing my deck in the pcq, and was 3-0, then after losing round 4 to me (playing his POFS Glock deck [0 entagle, 1 emerald dawn, and central battery power!!!!!]) he decided to drop due to random headache.
-The deck was made for one game format.
ObsidianKnight: "Yes hats off to that kid Kakarot " geez you must be well aged, or are you pushing for the category of 'dick'/someone who enjoys it?
The meta was crazy in Sydney. I think everyone figured that Squad Blitz, Faces and Avengers was gunna be everywhere and built decks that killed them. I think the only deck I played twice was the Arkham Brotherhood deck. Well done to all the guys in the top 8.
Some funky tech evolved and some older tier one decks prevailed as well.
In regards to the Lost City vs Common Enemy game in round 4. Both these players are casual players, but slowly progressing to the level of the players we see in these events. Jon is a young fella and had a damn good tournament, so big kudos to him....keep an eye out for him. The one thing that these guys had going against them was a huge lack of prep.....from game time to even getting there (yes we were on a mini-bus from melb to syd, and most of us were living off one hour sleep!!). Now these are not the actions of top tier players, but guys that find a bit of time to have some fun playing the game, and for them to get a feature match was huge for the group of us that went there witht them......good stuff guys!!
Well done to all those in the top 8. And for those that think an Aussie 10k always sees some screwed up stuff, its all good...keeps everyone one their toes and shows the meta is far from dead
