I just found out that a PCQ that we are attending this weekend (Dundee) was only supplied with Avengers product by Ude Europe for the limited portion of the PCQ. After pursuing the matter the TO was told that nothing could be done about it. long story short the TO (who always does the best for his players!) has had to obtain his own product for the event leaving him with a case of Avengers he has little to no use for.
This is very dissapointing and says little for "the changing face of the UK Pro Scene". I am the only one that finds it totally unacceptable that in an enviroment which will be discontinuing its constructed PCQs that we can't even get sealed product from current sets! What does this say about the UK's future ability to perform in PCs? We will have little competetive constructed practice and if we do make it to Day 2 we are a set behind? I implore you Ray do something before the UKs ability to compete is crippled by poor Ude support.
If I was in a jesting mood I'd scream conspiracy theory to stunt playing ability outside of the US.
Seeing as I'm actually somewhat shocked at that piece of news I'd have to say that if anyone else doesn't find that shocking then they're missing some braincells.
The TO being out of pocket himself as well as support given by UDE Europe is obviously bad news and gives a terrible message.
Here's a question? Are we essentially 2nd class citizens? I'd argue that we've been treated as such since virtually the start of the game and nothing's really gotten better since with regards to treatment form the powers that be.
Not to say that I don't appreciate what's been done so far I'm just wanting that 10% more
In Germany it's the decision of the TO now if a PCQ will be played in Sealed or Constructed. So far it seems to favor the Constructed side.
And the German UDE official announced that they will double the total number of PCQs in Germany so effectively the same amount of money and PC points will be given out.
Not too bad altogether, although I hardly play Constructed anymore and will probably go to even fewer PCQs now...
In the Netherlands it is also up to the TO to pick a format. UDE is probably using this as a cost saving measure but with the attandence of PCQ's here, this will probably make even less people show up.
