Like I said before Matt, welcome to the front page!
Sorry no loose change.
Canamrock, Lanterns in Love was the card I was talking about. On defense its a great way to keep a big board for later turns when you want Katma Tui to gain you infy life. Also helps with Sinestro and stun backs. Katma Tui allows you to get to late turns and turns that "Im about to lose" into "I got another 2 turns" and thats all you need to win. When you forget to mention Reign of Acorns it leads me to belive you just threw this deck to the side without playtesting. Reign of Acorns allows you to just stall a whole turn. And if you toss in Pleasent you can gain life while going next turn. Lanterns in Love and Black hand can mean GG. Dr Light doesn't just let you keep a board for Helping Hands, did you forget about Hector Hammond or Melissa Gold? You can also keep up with them to be able to absorb the damage and deal as much as you take. With the ability to filter through your deck with cards like Willworld, Malvolio, Book of Oa, and Birthing Chamber you can call it a toolbox deck. It allows you to get everything you need without having to underdrop or waste resource points on search. There are a ton more things you can do with this deck. There are like 40 pages in the Strategy and Tactics section if you want more, but I got to go to work.
Damn Rock, the team must have made quite the impression at the Sneak Preview in Berkeley if all these flamers followed us here.

Also in Rock's defense his version of GLOCK contains all of the above mentioned items. As well he fully understands how they work. As well as the few additionals he added to make it work even better.

Shouldn't that be BROCKback Mountain?
Anyway, great article. No real ground breaking info, but a good starting point to make sure everyone's up to speed before you get things started. I look forward to future articles in this series.
Like I'd said before, BM, I was already cramped for space. Our build uses two RoA, 4 LiL, and goes through the whole gauntlet of the Yapjoco and similar builds for quality cards. A truely intensive look into the deck's working would easily be an oversized article to itself, and I wouldn't even feel truly qualified to write that on my own.
The important point I was trying to make is that the loss of Cover Fire was not enough to keep the deck from being viable in Silver Age. I gave it about the same amount of descriptive space as the other decks, but that ends up meaning a lot of the inner strategy has to be pushed aside since there's so much to cover compared to Anti-Matter Rush or Squadron Supreme. I mean, it's fully possible to criticize me for not discussing the 'rowing order' of cards you draw in SqS or the optimal use of HiR in Avengers decks, but there's so little room to get in-depth on so many decks at once.
I'm going to be putting together a few control deck ideas, and if any pan out, I'll revisit our experiments with Glock and those. MK/SF/XM, Mutant, HC, JLI/Kang, and other ideas are floating in my head, so I'm sure there will be a lot of hot tech to chew on in coming articles. ^_^

Seriously, Canam, great stuff. I remember when you were still writing only for Kamiza, and I'd have to go read your articles over there, heh.
But did you even play any of the decks? I mean, you didn't mention every single card in them, especially the most important cards that aren't changed in the slightest by it being golden age or silver age (like Lanterns in Love). It's like you didn't even include a decklist.

Zing!
I actually thought Chad was going to come in here and tell Matt that he really didn't tell us anything new and the article was just a bunch of puffery.
For people who are in tune with the metagame or know the personalities in VS, articles like this and Dave's may be "old news". But to new players and other players who maybe don't know much about VS outside their local scene, articles like this are excellent.
It's really tough to cater to both casual and professional players without telling stories about Batman going brokeback on some hapless nerd (that is an urban legend by the way).
And we can't expect any of these guys to know everything... just as long as they don't act like they know everything.
The article was pretty good for the first time out... could probably use some off-color humor but I think that's Dave's forte.

Anyone who has played Glock would know the card is called Rain of Acorns not Reign of Acorns. This misnomer leaves me highly suspicious of the information in your post.
