Don't sweat it Stu...there will always be trolls online.
If he can't look past the fact that there are SF in a deck so it automatically makes it bad; then he obviously isn't intelligent enough to play this game on competitive level anyway. Basically he/she is a non-factor on this thread and/or at an event.
I can attest to the deck's great ability to compete in the current meta. The decks weakness lies against GLock, but an early Anarchy and some skillful manipulation of Slaughter Swamp can stifle Dr. Light. Doom can't reign/Mystical what he can't target, and a Pleasant Distraction on 6 keeps Bastion in check.
People forget that Amazing Spidey wins you games you should lose, he's arguably one of Vs. most devastating cards.
For those of you willing to try and break your area's meta, give this a shot, you'll be surprized at the results.
Reasons:
Titans-A good player has an awnser to everything. The metagame would of been a lot more fair if speedy didnt exist.
AGL- They deal massave damage fast and hard, more so than any deck out there.
Glock- They have enough defencive power to hold out through AGL and even titans. Theyir life gain also helps put up a better fight against AGL.
New School-THE most complicated deck to play out there, it has awnsers for everything, but a bad draw or a bad play usually means the game for this deck.
5. Squad- It has everything that AGL has, but with less power, but more recovery effects and burn effects. They suffer badly from bad draws, however.
6. CE- I see this as New Shcool light. You can afford to make mistakes with this deck, but it doesnt have the same amount of control. You WILL see this deck making top 8's at PCQ's conistantly, though.
7.Child Lock- A nother new school level of complexity deck. It can win games but if you get a good draw, if you know how to play the deck, and how to play the deck with a bad draw. You need to be good to play this deck and win.
8. X-Stall- It falls between New School and CE in level of hardness in playing the deck. Its complex, but doesnt take as much learning as it would New school but noit as straightforward as CE. If your a good player, you should be able to handle this deck pretty well.
9. Faces- This deck suffers from Speedy/Reign of terror syndrom. It has amazing consitancy and can almost never run out of gas. But like I said, Speedy or reign of terror KILLS the deck hard.
10.Avengers- Has some nice combat tricks, but all in all, doesnt hit as hard as some of the other combat based decks. Not a bad deck, but there are better ones to run.

I pretty much agree with everything you said regarding Spider-Friends.
I too run a Spider-Friends variant, however I have chosen to team up with Gotham Knights. The results are great with all the card drawing GK has to offer and if I can make it to turn 7 the only thing that would keep me from winning is missing Spidey on 7.

Really? I hope to see you at ATL then so I can make you take back those words.
And it bears absolutely no resemblance to the decks that are being hyped going in?
Or is it just a Revengers deck with the Beatdowns taken out?
Either way, this is my point:
You just dismissed out of hand a deck that someone spent precious hours, if not days of their life building and tweaking to beat the meta. It sounds like they were fairly successful, even using cards that you assume are inferior.
The most successful deck builders are the ones that think outside the box and try to find ways to beat the meta, not just slide into a neat little spot within it.

I find it hilarious when people say AGL isn't a good deck.
And a little depressing.
(oh, and my top 3 is Titans, Glock, and AGL, in no particular order. But if the meta shifts so that anti-rush hate = anti-one-drop hate, Squad could move back in.)
Ok so there are the kids coming down from Denver and i'm expecting to see Titans and GLOCK but i really can't be sure, right now the things I know i'm playing against in my age division are Titans, Squadron, some X-Beats thing,FFfun and TNB..still not sure what the guys coming from Denver are bringing, I was thinking of teching in Speedy in Glock I know it gives titans more reason for betrayal but in the Squad,Faces,AGL,TNB matchups it gives me a definite advantage so all in all I think it's going to be mixed but I know there's going to be a lot of russo out of these 6 decks what would you play
1.GLOCK
2.Squadron
3.Faces
4.TNB
5.AGL
6.Curve
those are the decks I have access to right now so give me your thoughts what you would play, and the strengths and weaknesses of each matchup I may face I want to be completely informed and prepared before I shuffle up I want to have the best chance possible of making it..luck aside and they are all going to be things i've built and throughly tested so i'm familiar with all of them
