All energy... running full Evil Eye, X-Treme Maneuver and Magnetic Forces. Also 4 Drain Essence.... and Blow The Man Down if they really want to be mean.
This is the reason X-Men never receive true character tutors. If they did, they might be unstoppable.

Do you have a non-aggro suggestion bigolteets?
Temper, temper. You are gonna catch something on fire again like that. That X-board is, in fact, a good exercise to test against even when playing something non-completely-awful.
Bogolteets is just like that, on his third screen name this month. Grin and bear it.
yea, there are a lot better control decks out there. You peeps need to figure out the secret stuff or stick with Squad to have those 50/50 chance games.
Like I said, not consistent. And Chrome is a better option at 2. There are other energy drops for 3. But if you get your drops, this thing is pretty hard to play against in the MMA.
Not really an opinion, but an observation of how it has worked....
Of course, if you dont think about how to play with X-Treme Maneuvers in this format, you leave yourself open for a world of hurt. Doing damage AND taking your biggest guy out of the fight for 2 turns? The card is ridiculous.
Originally posted by Lord_Craxton I'd just like to point out that you don't want to drop Tommy turn 1 unless she's your one-drop for the turn or you've got the rest of your curve in hand. An extra character is nice, but you may need to discard her for Hump or Bloodhound later on.
However, you do drop Rick Jones on turn 1 unless you have a Beast. You will always be able to return him before 6 if you're going to be short on Wonderman guys.

Props for thinking outside the box and posting something control oriented. I know its easy for people to say 'that deck is the suxxor! There are so many other control decks that are the roxxor!', but if they don't back up what they're saying then they're just blowing smoke.
Aggro builds are the easiest to key in on, especially in the modern environment. So the two ways to go is either
a) find the strongest aggro build and run with it (like FTN did with GLEE in Indy), or
b) find the best control build and try to make sure you have at least a 50/50 against the best aggro build (like Qward in Indy). And I say Qward because going into Indy I felt it had a solid matchup against 'GLEE', though if I had known about the FTN GLEE build beforehand it would have been hard not to run it instead.

X-Treme Maneuvers is a tempting card. The drawbacks are the double exhaust, and the attack step restriction. I like it, but I would love it so much more if you could use it off-init.
