I would love...I mean loooove to see some team tournaments. I mean its in the rules book, and it would take the game to a whole different level. Of Course some card would need to be banned in team tournaments though. :cheeky:
Originally posted by En-Kur You may not know about this, but the UDE TO conference is next Monday. I get to attend because I am the TO for Alabama. I'll make this short and simple. What would you guys like to see in the next six months. Keep it reasonable and feel free to list any complaints you have. But please focus on what positive things you would like to see. I'll clean them up and take them to the TO conference to discuss. One that I would like you all to support would be appearance fees for myself. ;-)

1- More local tournies (PCQs or more hobby league. I haven't found one yet! All those listed on the site are phonies)
To go along with the afforementioned State Championships, I think invites should be given to those who hold the #1 slots for either Sealed or Constructed for their states.
Every state won't be capable of having this, but this could potentially be a catalyst for areas that don't have a huge VS following yet.
People who are looking to get into VS would probably be excited about the opportunity.
This could also provide a chance for VS players who don't have access to PCQ's do to distance, a chance to participate in a big event.
When people say "team tournaments" I think they are talking about 2 different things. I doubt we will ever see a tournament where 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 games are played. However it seems pretty likely that we could do some sort of team event (like Magic does) where teams are paired and 3 separate matches are played and whichever team wins 2 out of the 3 (or more) wins the match. I'd love to see some sort of team sealed then a final day of team draft or something of this sort. Would add a ton of fun to a normal sealed event I think.
I'd also love to see (as I've suggested earlier) a more selective World Championship type tournament.
ok, I know I've said this already, but it'd be great if a prize could be to make your own card. Look at DBZ; even though they died out (the fate of any anime-based tcg), they awarded the winner of an annual tourney the chance to make their own card to be put into print ( or 1 copy for themself, I can't remember exactly right now).
and here's the dream of any comic enthusiast: the opportunity to make a character to be put in a comic! how cool would that be? If the character sucked, it could be in one issue and be killed off.
Of course, the 2ndary reason who I post this is to finally get orange soda man the respect he & his creativity deserves.
Yeah I think something like Magic does with the invitationals, the make your own card thing. It would more than likely have to be limited to plot twists and locations and maybe feature you drawn into the art. Have the first invitational conisist of all of the PC Winners and 10k winners or somethign of that sort then put like 10 or slots up for vote by the vs community(same as magic) then start it afterwords with a regionals, nationals, and worlds, States wouldnt be terrible, but I believe a lot of turnouts would be low in some states and would prevent future events, although states are mor of a fun event for magic and an inbetween of FNM Arena and PTQs.
Make UDE more reachable. My area has a large Vs player base as well as a huge gaming area at our shop. However not one of our TO's no less then half a dozen e-mails to UDE, rgearing the possibility of getting a PCQ or Sneak Preview at our area, have been replied to.
1. Team Events would be so amazing, like the Tim Willoughby Invitational looks like a vg time.
2. City Championships in the US. I'd like a chance to play in City Championships to win a cool EA (I'm pretty much drooling over the Emma on Ebay), and some product, as a fun event somewhere between HL and PCQs
Regionals could be a good alternative to states and could lead to nationals in a tournament format.
Maybe PCQs could be used as qualifiers for both PCs and regionals. The points could work like 10 points for PC and 5 points for Regional play. Regionals top placers could play at a national level.
That would be so awesome!. Smaller states like Maine and South Carolina could be folded into larger regions so the turnouts would not be low. Maybe the regionals could be arranged by population counts where hubs would be northwest, southwest, south, midwest/central, and northeast.
The top 24 qualifiers in each region would move to a national with about 125 guys.
In reality, who knows if UDE could pull off both a PC system and national championship series?

orrr you can make the game more competitive by making it t8 like it is in magic and the rest of the people are invited by rating or "pro points' or something :/
