Ahh. my mistake.
For the faces match-up does the mulligan become Quicksilver then? Under-dropping + Quicksilver seems like a good idea.
You dont really have to underdrop. If you hit Curve, you can make a safe attack into a Faces weenie with Quick. Then team attack another one with Natasha and your 1 drop. Natasha triggers killing another weenie. Quicksilver then readies for more beats.
Also, instead of Assemble, I'm splashing the better BH characters and running a couple Enemy of my enemy for search.

Because you'll never know what your opponent is playing in advance. Like in the top 8. Or because they were buying Faces pieces before the tournament.
The deck isn't really called Avengers or Brotherhood, because there are just so many splashes from each team. Amelia Voght, Black Panther, Anna Marie Cortez, Hawkeye, and Wonderman are the main characters that are found in both decks. I'd rather classify the deck as just 'Reservist,' because it's not really a team-up or strictly a single team, but a deck that uses and abuses the Reservist mechanic.
On day 1, I played 6 Squad decks, and won against 4 of them. In the 2 games I lost, I had evens and the Squad player hit absolute nuts. In general, I think the Reservist/Squad matchup is about 50/50, and even if the Reservist player gets evens if they can drag the game out to 6 they can win. Squad has a better nuts draw, but Reservist is generally more consistent (except for Vidi's build, which I'm amazed more people didn't catch onto. Enemy > Answer.)
However, I can't say anything about the X-Faces matchup, because I've never played it. I played Reservist because I was more worried about day 2, and thought that all I really needed was a deck that could 6-4 so I could draft my way into some cash. For the upcoming PCQ season, I'm probably going to be playing sealed, but my advice is either learn to play X-Faces flawlessly or play the Squad mirror until it's second nature.
After going through so much and tried play-testing. The only way (IMO) that Avengers can beat SS, X-Faces is that they hit Natasha Romanoff <> Black Widow taking that the draws are not too god-like. (Eg. SS hits Joystick, Shape, Lady Lark with 1 card in hand or something like that and X-Faces hit all drops by turn 3 without either Faces, Brave or Mob)
Against SS, either intiative should be fine with the fact that ODDS is obviously better. If the Avengers player is taking odds, the prefered play will be Rick Jones, Natasha and Black Panther. Team with Rick + Natasha on either Lady Lark or Shape who have 4 defense on turn 3. (Lady Lark prefered) Stun the character in front row. Next turn recruit Hawkeye and kill either Shape or Joystick. Then, smile at them and use Rick Jones like mad. You can recruit Carol Danvers on turn 5 to send Nuke flying.
On even init, recruit either of the 1 drop is fine. This one is a little tricky. Since you have got to attack straight on turn 2. Hope, beg or whatever that Shape is protected Joystick or you will need to waste a pump to get Joystick outta the way. Team attack and then you should have board advantage. Recruit Quicksilver to either reduce END loss or BP to allow maximum exploitation on turn 4. Tuen 4, since either Shape or Joystick on down on turn 2, Hawkeye would have a fairly simple job. Team attack BP + Natasha on Golden Archer and stun Lady Lark in return. Have your Rick Jones direct attack. You should have loss about 25-30 Hp by now. It's fine. Since you have superior board advantage and as long as they don't hit Other-Earth, you are VERY SAFE. Because next turn you have either Submariner or She-Hulk and you have Rick Jones for reinforcement when needed.
Against X-Faces, this one is definitely odds. If you take evens, chances are you are more likely to fall to pieces. Natasha and Rick Jones on their 3, stun their 2 or the otherwise and BP for the MAX breakthru. Superior board advantage from turn 3.
On EVENS. Same thing except that you won't have max breakthru. Your Hawkeye is most likely not going to get a free stun, so I suggest playing Druid here. Faces are definitely going to get their guys stun straight. So, there is no worry of stun backs. Pumps are rather useless unless for max breakthru. Flying Kick should be good.
Generally, in this format, Black Knight sucks. Full stop. The only way for survival is 4 Natasha.
That is what I have gathered from my play-testing. Any other comments?
