Timberwolf's refers to his boost effect [hunts best in a pack], Ultra Boy refers to his choice [+2 Atk or invulnerability]

Mutual Enemies resembles the Revenge Squad ... which is very apt as one of the earliest Revenge Squads had the 'big three' of the Legion of Supervillains [Lightning Lord, Cosmic King and Saturn Queen]

I think of Easter Eggs as anything which has a secret significance.

I guess sort of an in-joke in a way or a reward to people who are interested enough to really examine things.

I would consider the Boomerang quote an Easter Egg in a way.

True but Wildstorm is a DC property so that could potentially accelerate the process. Hellboy is Dark Horse/Mike Mignola so I could see that being a little more sticky in the licensing department.
