Ain't gonna happen. Like I said, wasted time and effort to try and convert me. And Stu you're hilarious. I remember when you got kicked off Team Realmworx you had the biggest flame war of all time, and cut down all these people you're talking about right now.

And Ludin, you are a liar.
Me and Billy and Spears and Erick had our moments... but Patrick was always above it. Ask him yourself. That is, IF he will ever talk to you anymore after you made this big mess in his name.

I don't think we're trying to convert you - I think we're just trying to get you to act civil and keep your insults to yourself. You waste your potential when you degrade other realmers. Look at this thread - you had a great idea, you had support. Now it's all about your behavior. Is this your goal on realms? To seek attention through disrespect?
You guys keep posting, but I haven't changed my mind or opinion. Or what I think about the writeres.
could you at least clarify on the question I raised. Is it that you don't think the writers are any good at writing the articles you like or is it that you think the articles that are currently written are done so in a poor fashion (within their niche). If the latter is true, what recomendations do you make for improvement

Ain't gonna happen in a Public Forum =). And apparently that is my goal.

Actually I'm saying that cause they seem to get more angry and keep posting. But the articles are written fine. But the problem is that they seem more like writers than Vs Players, if that makes any sense. Your last couple were actually fine, as there was a decklist you dissected (not sure if you made them) and then gave a tournament report with details, and then dissected the problems that you had. That's Vs material that should be written. Not about the art, not about the history, not about the contests. All that stuff is fine in moderation, but it's just completely saturated and we hit a niche.

There's a good portion of us players that would rather read about the art and the history, and enjoy contests. I want both. I want just as much art and history as I want strategy and analysis. And I'm willing to bet there is a huge contingent of players that would agree with me.
This isn't Magic, where they're making #### up as they go along. This is a game based on almost a century of fascinating history, and that's the reason why a lot of us are here. Maybe not you, maybe not the people you play with, but a lot of players.

I'm sure I'll live to regret pointing out that you just described half my articles.
Some people claim that the way they speak here is the way they speak everywhere else. This is almost always a bold-faced lie. Rarely would one speak to co-workers or family or complete strangers, the way they would to pseudo-strangers on the internet.
I'm pretty sure stu and I are the same IRL as online
And yes... RocketGurl can be very Richard-like in-person too (oooo... burn).

Can two people win a thread?
Outside of Realms, and the two or three haters who consistently throw stones, we receive a large amount of purely positive feedback. Personally, my emails are always heartwarming. When I go to big tournaments, I get to shake hands with a very appreciative audience. All of our writers are very accessible and very open to constructive criticism, and we honestly do everything we can to help the community enjoy the game as much as possible. Our articles always have a heaping helping of fun in them, and right now there is not a serious competitive drive because of the lack of tournaments. That will change quickly when they announce dates and formats, I promise.
As for the nearly 100 years of fascinating history, the hardcore gamer will never understand how deeply satisfying it is to be able to synthesize comic book myths with trading card games. Yesterday I got linked from an interview with David Michelinie on the Aquaman site - to my preview article about Sea Creatures! That kind of serious involvement in the history of comic books transcends the drive to dominate the tournament hall for many many people, and I am really happy that I can help facilitate it in my own tiny way.
All that aside, except for Ludin's refusal to stay civil on the boards, I have enjoyed the conversation about this. As soon as the tournament schedule is announced and the community as a whole shifts a bit more toward the competitive, we will shift right along with it. We aim to please, and we shoot to kill. Bang.

But a note. You do not write for Vssystem.
I think I voiced a similar opinion to this myself in another more vulgurly titled thread. And while Rocketgurl may be terse and flipant after reading the whole thread I would say a number of individuals here are very sensitive, (and I'm not saying I wouldn't be if you called my baby ugly, and suggested that getting paid to do my job, which I think I do well, is a misplacement of fiscal resources), none of his comments were as inflamatory as the responses they garnered would suggest.
I think Patrick is a good vs. player, a good deck builder, and I enjoy his tournament reports.
I would enjoy more articles on Vssystem that are relevant directly to the strategy and play of the current game.
I would also like them to be less painfull on the eyes, which I believe detracts even from the better articles.
Not everyone wants what I want, so I can ignore Stu's articles, and the guy who does the wasn't vs cool when stuff. I'm not bashing you, but we only all have so much time and have to try to spend it in way we each individualy enjoy.
I don't know how you all talk to your friends, but I've always considered this site to be like a place I hang out with my buds. And I give my buds a lot of Sh!t. If we didn't care we'd just be polite to each other, that's how you treat strangers, but I don't want to be part of a community of strangers so I will continue to dose out the Sh!t whenever I feel like it. If you are easily insulted or very sensitive, me, rocketgurl, and a number of others should likely be on your ignore list.
..and I've been sensitive before so I understand I called Prosack out on this very site because he hit one of my triggers, we all have them, mine is telling me to die or threatening me physically, the way I live that's serious, but that's my problem, not Rocketgurls or Prosacks, mine. Own your own sensitivity and stop driving this away from a good point, and a glarring hole in the Vssystem writing stable.
