I agree with pickman. I may have a few lowball bids in myself, combined to $150+ in addition to attempting to work out a deal for a ton of non uniques. And as pickman mentioned I bid what they were worth to me. I'm [potentially] committing my money to an 'auction' where he may say 'F it it's all going to eBay' and I'm sure, to his lament, He can verify that I have been adding and updating bids this entire week.
Point is people throw out opinions and make insinuations and assumptions based on the tiniest perception of information, like mostly everywhere on the web. SBT set this up to take offers and he has not obligated himself to anything so I think he has protected himself fairly well.

Three days before Christmas, a good friend of mine lost his wife and his world was turned upside down. I was going through my own health issues at the time, and couldn’t be there for him as much as I would have liked. Fortunately, some others stepped up and filled in where I couldn’t. As the months went on that support grew less and less. When I was over my hurdles, I was able to get back with him, and I was happy to be there for the long haul.

I could have very easily boxed up all this stuff and sent it to Troll & Toad, or parceled it out on eBay for much higher prices. I chose to let the MK community, MY Mage Knight community, know about it. I started out on the official boards and moved over here about a year later. I know what this game has meant to most of us, and how it has brought us together – even if we are a motley crew!

I asked for reasonable offers, I did not feel it was necessary to put minimum bids on anything, because I just knew you guys would do the right thing. The vast majority did just that. I even had people offering to make donations to the cause. That won’t be necessary, my friend needed some help, he’s not destitute. Sure there were a couple of low bids, but those balanced out with the other bids that were placed. Besides, who doesn’t like to get a bargain every now and then, especially after the investment that we’ve made in this game?

When I saw some of the low-ball bids, I went to bed last night feeling a bit disappointed. I told my wife about it. She said to not let a few bad bids, outshine all the good bids and words of encouragement from the majority. She was right, but don’t tell her I said that!

I know times are hard for a lot of people these days. For the figures where I have multiples, I will allow the lower bids. Arcane Drac for $1? Sure, I’ve got 6 more. And if it helps that bidder out, and keeps them in the game and on the boards, I’m all for it. Who and what was offered, is not as important to me as the fact that you guys took the time to hang in there with me and bid.

I have literally given away cases of Mage Knight over the years. Shipped them overseas to our military. However, I’m not going to give stuff away here, for someone else to resell it somewhere else, especially when it’s not mine to give away.

I’ve read all your comments and I will be posting the final list of what I consider acceptable offers shortly. I really do appreciate your support in all this. I've got to end this before I start sounding too sappy and you all think I'm a nice guy. ;)

There probably will be a second round of offers after I readjust the inventory numbers and add in whatever else my buddy brings me later this week.

I have to admit that near the end of the auction I got caught up in the "excitement" and forgot why these are being auctioned off (there were so many figures that I haven't seen on sale for a while). I know I made some offers that are way too low.. acting out of impulse. It makes sense to reject/re-auction/eBay the low bids!

Feel free to review for me “taking advantage.” I have no problem abandoning any of the “for the heck of it” bids (that’s actually how I worded it when I #sent them in last night). I believe Nepherea Pike is the only real low ball, as I never saw any serious armies with the others in it. A lot of people tried to play Harrowblade and Kossak but movement was the killer with both of them for their cost (i.e. they were not effective center pieces). #If #I am wrong, no problem. I want to make sure everyone is happy. And nothing I win will go to Ebay. If I were trading with SKByTor face to face, we could talk about these and come to an arrangement. As it stands, I have no problem letting them go if it will cause bad blood.

Looks like I got sniped on The Black Knight. A little sad, but I set a hard limit on it and it went for more than that limit. My quest for the last of the Order of the Ninth Circle continues.

Me either. I was considering bidding on him, but that killed it. Gaunt is pretty cheap to pick up and getting him would give me a full set of scorcery again. I sold off my set of dragonslayers except for lord valantis when MK died and I was pessimistic that it would never come back. I doubt I will ever see them all again. I kept my Vorgoth as well because he is just so cool looking.

I never thought I'd see any Dragonslayers until someone put an entire factory set of Omens up on eBay. Hey, maybe if my medical bills get bad again you'll have a chance to get them again.

I gave up on the Black Knight after $25. Was that Omens set recent? If so, I was bidding on it at the end with you lol. Believe it or not, I bought a small lot on eBay not too long ago for $5.00 and it had Kaznak.

I'm surprised that I got the Apoc promo set.. I even bid up on myself just a tad. Finally they'll go with my Chela!

I am so jealous. Just need Chela to complete my Solonavi set.

The set I speak of was early May. I remember because it ended during This American Life's live show. I placed a pretty high bid on it though because sadly I had to leave the game just as Sorcery was coming out, and I never had Sorcery, Omens, or Nexus pieces.
