Figures used: Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Dr. Strange, Hawkeye, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Thing, Wasp
It seems you either blow through a characters Shape Change/SS or they make it like 6 times in a row. There's no middle ground. And no prediciting which it will be on any given turn.
Speaking of SC. I'll bring in Awesome Andy. If for no other reason than he grants Sidekicks SC.
Sue Sides to J23, TKs Artie to E16
Valeria moves to E17, Perpelxes Thing's DV -1
Artie tries to MC Thing. AV11 on Dv18-1. Gets 7.
Thing tries Quaking, AV11. Gets 6. Won't hit Spider-Man or Angel.
Reed's Giant Reach is 5 now, from his last SC roll. on Thing, Outwitting his Invulnerable, AV11 on DV18 -1. Gets 6. Does 3 to him.
"Ben! What're you doing?" Spider-Man asked as the Thing took a swing at him. Only his Spider-Sense warned him in time.
"I...I dunno," the Thing said, confused.
"I do. It is the youth's influence. I can dispel it," Dr. Strange said casting a spell.
"Sorry, old friend," Reed apologized, his arm stretching out, a sort of high-tech brass knuckles on his hand, allowing his punch to hurt the normally invulnerable Thing.
Figures used: Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Dr. Strange, Hawkeye, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Thing, Wasp
It's confusing, but Artie wasn't one of the ones I brought in as a trio. That was Bentley and Vil -noted with the (T) remember? - and Wu whom you've KOd. So Artie was a standalone figure whom I can replace. In case you want to change your mind and block him.
I know we added sidekicks after but Artie probably should've been one of the three. It seems you're getting 3 for 1 as sidekicks but all of them get the sidekick benefits, even outside the 3 'generics'. Where is their sc coming from btw, I'm sure it's legit, just can't track it.
On the one hand, I don't want to push Angel, on the other, he can move Thing in closer and also make an attack while blocking. Seems worth it.
Angel charges w/Thing in tow to CD16, he's D16. Attacks Val?. SC is 1. Needs 5, rolls 8. 3 to him. 1 to Angel for pushing.
Figures used: Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Dr. Strange, Hawkeye, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Thing, Wasp
The reason I brought up the option of tripling up sidekicks is because, for the Future Foundation kids at least, for it to be really effective playing them, it felt like you needed numbers. Getting three in one slot like generics seemed a good way. But I wanted more than just three, so I used single character slots for others with the sidekick role. (Wonder Woman Sidekicks seem like they're mostly Generic style anyway, but I still think if I wanted to draft a single Gorilla Knight, say, in the Wonder Woman game, even though I already drafted a trio of soldiers, I could use a single slot for him.)
And the Sidekicks are getting Shape Change from Awesome Andy. That's his Captain ability.
Bently Leadership - 5. All it does is take a token off Valeria.
Franklin TKs Andy to G16
Surfer HSS to D17 on Angel, AV11 on DV17. Gets 11. SS is 6. Ends in I22
Andy Sides to F18, carrying Dawn to F19. Attacks Thing, AV10 on DV17. Gets 10. 2 more to Thing after Invulnerable.
Val Breakaway? Gets 1.
Dawn Sides to H21
Vil to K22
Wizard, FFFF31b to replace. Carries Vil. Moves to G17. Puts her in F16
"What an interesting day this is," the Wizard said. "Reed and Susan Richards siding with the Mad Thinker's brutish android against Richards's oldest friend Ben Grimm. To think I would live to see the day."
"Are you going to help, or just gloat?" Sue scowled at him.
"Oh I will do my part, but give me a moment first to enjoy the delicious irony."
Thing on Val? SC is 5. Sheesh. Break? 6. Sides to E15 on Vil. I assume Vil is the one in G16, although recap says F16. SC is 3. Needs 7, rolls 8. 2 to him.
Spidey hss to F16 on Wiz. Needs 6 rolls 7. 3 to him. Break? 1. Ugh, gimme a break. Outwits Vil's sc.
Figures used: Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Dr. Strange, Hawkeye, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Thing, Wasp
"How's this for irony? You come in with that speech and I take you out in seconds," Spider-Man says rushing the Wizard. As he rushes away the Wizard's power keeps him there.
"Going somewhere, Spider-Man? I don't think so. We're about to get to know each other better."
Spider-Man's move didn't save on the map. You have him F16, but that's where Vil is. I'll put him in the closest square to that where he could make the attack on Wizard, in G16
Also I just realized I should have gotten a J Jonah Jameson bystander for your Spider-Man (You also should have placed a Garbage Can)
Bentley Leadership 1 - not only does it fail, but I have to remove a token from one of your guys. I'll take it off Wanda
Reed Leadership - 5. He'll take the token off Andy.
Reed moves to L21, Outwits SS on Spider-Man.
Valeria Perplexes Andy's AV to 11
Sue tries to heal the Surfer, AV11 on DV18. Gets 9. Puts Surfer back top dial.
Dawn Sides to H23
Jameson to K20, Perplexes Spider-Man's DV to 17
Andy on Spider-Man, AV11 on DV17, gets 6. I'm suddenly super glad I got that Jameson token. Hits Spider-Man for 4.
Bentley on Spider-Man, AV10 on DV17. Gets 4. I was hoping on the right team, Bentley would show me I was wrong about putting him in the bottom 5. So far that hasn't happened.
Surfer HSS to D17 on Spider-Man. AV12 on DV17. Gets 5. Spider-Man makes it 7. KOs him - but not. Really just sends him to the Garbage Can in your starting area where he becomes "[SVC] #016 Peter Parker on click #2". I'll put the token in I2.
Surfer ends in F19, with Dawn Perplexing hsi DV +1
"Uh oh," Spider-Man said, realizing that the Wizard's gravity disc was holding him in place.
"Uh oh is right, you menace! Get 'im!" J. Jonah Jameson cheered as Awesome Andy caught Spider-Man with his oversized fists.
"Jameson? Where did you come from?" Reed asked.
"A good newspaperman always goes where there's a story," Jameson answered. "And the defeat of Spider-Man is a huge one. Now if only that blasted Parker were here to get some pictures," he grumbled as the Silver Surfer finished off Spider-Man.
