She would not have access to the soulsword as Doom has the ability to cancel that out if she is within range. (via HMMM... AND DO YOU HAVE AN INFINITY GAUNTLET NOW?: FREE: Choose an opposing character within range and line of fire. That character can't use the BeEFFECT of Equipment until your next turn.)
... Which is accounted for in the scenario I wrote out. Being close enough to use his trait means he has to be close enough for Genesis to base him. Once that happens, Doom is done (barring the vagaries of dice, of course)

Oh, you don't actually play.
Waller KOs: AA Robin, Kid Devil, Joker, Question; AW E Cap; FCBD Iron Man; Miracle/Oberon; John Stewart x2, Iron Patriot; Shatterstar; IH Herc; CW Photon & Nitro; FF Nite Owl; 10An R Thor, E Iron Man, Weapon X; FF Kilowog; Hugo Strange; Calender Man; Legion Cosmic Boy & Lightning Lad, LE Pete Wisdom
Oh also, after looking at the Soulsword again I just noticed that she actually has to damage somebody with Mystics if she wants to heal using it, so Genesis won't be able to heal Doom's first attack using it even if he doesn't turn it off because he has Invincible.
This is a good point. The piece is still new. Whoops. I don't think it really changes things though, because Doom still isn't going to be able to get her past the second stop click before she starts attacking him.

But let’s make it interesting and run a 600 point game.
This is the opposite of making it interesting. Games over 300 are just unwieldly, especially given the modern design philosophy.

I fundamentally disagree that basing Doom means he's done. Basing him doesn't necessarily mean he got attacked, and as I've said 3 times now in this thread, he has a 75% chance of succeeding on breakaway to running shot, move out of reach of Genesis' charge, and shoot. Or alternatively, perplex up defense and force Genesis to roll 9s through probability control.
... %&^ it. I believe you. I just can't believe water terrain doesn't stop non swimmers from moving further like it did for what 18 or 18 years.
I guess every character is an olympic level swimmer these days.

They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far." Robert Downey/Tony Stark

Dealing damage and taking damage are two different things. Doom taking no damage due to Invincible doesn't change the fact that he was dealt the damage
Genesis is a woman. She’s Apocalypse’s wife. A couple posts have properly identified her, but the majority have not.
Thank you for your time.
Oops, I said "he" instead of "she". I'm totally unfamiliar with the character, up to now.

Yes he COULD do those things but let's consider too that if he breaks away for the running shot, he still remains within Genesis's 6 range. So she can return the favor. And again, Doom may be taking Mystics damage on top of it.
I'm a big Doom fan but GED just isn't the Doom to play in this particular scenario.

Very true. I've even suggested locally that we make 250 points or even 200 points the normal format. It's not uncommon to have six or more figures on a Modern 300 point team and that makes for slower paced games, not to mention how unwieldy the game already was before the more recent power creep, due to how many elements there are and how much text is involved.

I won my venue's Silver Surfer prize a while ago. However, since I don't play every week or anything & the fact that there are 5 freakin' rules sets in my head. (I started playing a week after IC released.) This forces me to ask a few more questions than when I was playing every week.

I feel your pain. As a judge I often have to refer back to the current rules because I still have previous rule sets competing for attention in my mind. Many veteran players in my circle are the same way.

My Mantra: "I am going to do my best to stay positive." LOL
There is a lot of fun still here in the game. I just hate feeling like what a dementia patient goes through when I play this game.

Yes she is & the story showed that she WORKED Apocalypse in a fight in my recollection. It was pretty cool to read on Comixology.... before the site went to poop.

For me it's "I'm gonna do my best not to accidentally cheat".
But yeah I still gripe and complain sometimes (I have to consciously check myself) about the newest rules set but it's still a very fun game. It's really what you choose to make out of it.
I guess I better tally up the votes in a few days.

"Jimmyboy & the Accidental Cheating" sounds like a phenomenal band name. I could hear that being announced at Coachella.
