Beardfish got back together after 9 years apart. I am pretty sure they are going to put out an album and I am also sure there will be some long songs on there. In the mean time here is a song from Big Big Train.

So when Rolling Stone put out their latest greatest guitarist list they righted some wrongs by including several guitarists that deserved acknowledgement that never got any mention before ---------but, I noticed there was a huge pushback from several names in the industry because they excluded a gentleman by the name of Allan Holdsworth. Vernon Reid of In Living Color was the first to protest this exclusion and then I saw articles from many other musicians that complained about his exclusion. So I decided to look into this guy. I already had some work from the man in my library by a band called U.K. which I bought because John Wetton was their vocalist and I loved his vocals on King Crimson. So I bought the album Bundles by Soft Machine off iTunes and listened to a five-part track called Hazard. It's very jazzy but I was knocked out. There's another Soft Machine album with Alan Holdsworth on it but iTunes doesn't offer it.

Hazard Profile was quite the jam, I can see why rock contemporaries would be calling for acknowledgement for the guartist.

My favorite song off the first Black Sabbath album. Black Sabbath took their name from a 1960s era Boris Karloff movie. This was back when Ozzy had to get by on the more mundane John Osbourne moniker. For all of Ozzy's faults I see him as the best vocalist for B.S.

It's almost impossible to describe what a mind-blowing experience it was to hear this from the Black Sabbath debut when it first came out. At the time, just didn't seem possible that someone had done this.

I started my day by listening to your Black Sabbath video. What a great way to start my day! And yes, I know it’s the afternoon, but the life of the second shifter.

Great song. Have to admit that I let Mott the Hoople slip off my radar back during their heyday.

I love me some Nazareth; however, this puts me in mind of two albums I haven't had the guts to listen to yet. Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music and Neil Young's Trans. The initial part covering the Nazareth song was excellent but the rest soon becomes tedious I'm afraid. I wish that post allowed comments because they are usually very inciteful.

The albums Country Life and Stranded were delightfully decadent to me. Apparently Roxy Music has been accused of stealing Lou Reed's sound. I don't know about that but I have been a fan for years, I always thought Bryan Ferry's vocals drove the decadence.
