How about a complimentary set of Silver Surfer/ Invisible Girl LE's?
I'd personally prefer a rain check program but I can me reasoned with.
But an apology does not make up for a horrible weekend and for the financial and time loss.
It does not make up for the feeling being duped by Wizkids and wizard publications marketing for this event.

What does it take to make you happy. They made a business decision based on the projected numbers. You would have done the same thing becuase it wasn't just one persons decision it was Wizkids as a whole. Unlike WWT, WWLA turn out to be a huge success and their numbers came up short and they appologized many times. You are seriously being inconsiderate and as far as I'm concerned very very rude.
Originally posted by tyroclix I have no problem with there being a Limited-Limited Edition Galactus figure.
My problem has always been that this was never cleary stated.
The benefit that everyone from now on has, is the ability to make an informed decision about:
- Whether to go to a Con or not
- How much you are willing to pay
Before this past weekend, no one could do that - and hence the frustration. But now we all know what is going on.
And knowing IS half the battle...
Waiting on line is the other half.
Agreed.
Right now, looks like I'll be socking money away to get one on Ebay - that's the most sensible thing.
IF Wizkids wants Galactus to be the factor that draws people like me, to Cons that I would not normally attend, they'll have to work much harder to create a sense of confidence that someone actually has a fair chance at getting one of these figs by standing in the lines.
I'll leave the line-standing to the professionals who know how to break the system, and get mine through the secondary market.
Thank you Dorcas for finally apologizing. I suppose it's better late than never. I'm sure that everyone here would be a great deal more understanding however if we were provided with some actual numbers, and not simply assurances that there will be plenty. Plenty is not a number, and from what we've seen Wizkids doesn't seem to grasp the concept of what plenty means. Your idea of plenty would not have been sufficient for the expected 10,000 attendees, much less the amount of people who actually showed up. I certainly realize that you can't bring one Galactus figure for every person you expect to attend a convention. That is totally unreasonable. What would be reasonable is to check the number of registered Wizkids players in the general area of a convention and plan accordingly. I don't know how many of your players are registered in LA and the surrounding area, but I'm sure that the number is far in excess of what was brought to WWLA. I would suggest that you notify your customers well ahead of time how much product you intend to bring to a convention at forums such as this. You can then use the feedback to help determine if you are still underestimating demand. This initial mistake will likely be forgiven by most as long as it isn't repeated. Please take steps such as these to ensure that it doesn't happen again. Even if it does happen again, if you can honestly say that you took these steps and still fell short, the failure would be easier to understand by your customers. If you fail again and you didn't take additional steps such as these, you're going to lose customers.
Originally posted by DerangedHermit The one thing that hasn't been addressed is why Drop Ships were so plentiful last year (at WWE, they didn't sell out until VERY late in the day) and Galactus was not. If you walked into the door at 12:00 on Friday, you got a drop ship. Would it not be reasonable to believe that Galactus would be at least as popular, if not more-so, than the drop ship?
It makes the average clix player feel like a second class citizen.
Probably about the same number of Drop Ships per person, but much less demand for them.
Originally posted by tyroclix But they would have to already have known they were going to miss their numbers by so much from the beginning to have a raincheck program in place.
I'd argue they should've known they were going to miss their numbers by an astronomical amount, but, of course, if they had they'd have been less likely to come w/such a meager amount...
There is a lesson to be learned here that rests somewhere between the polar opposites of Sandra Wu-San's "Yayyy for WizKids and Everything They Do" thread and the hordes of "We Quit" ones.
This game, plain and simply, rocks. There's no reason to quit as long as you have fun playing and have the money to keep buying it. But don't count on WizKids to deliver any more than the product you're actually handing your debit card over the counter to purchase despite what you may read here or hear from those in the know (judges, envoys, your cousin's girlfriend's brother who works in distribution.)
I believe it was all a blunder completely free of malicious intent on WizKids' part and I believe they truly regret the situation, but I don't know if I believe in their competance or that they place much value in customer satisfaction.
Any future convention limited editions I hear about will have an emphasis on the word "LIMITED." Dorcas has already warned me several times the past few days that "limited", in WizKids' speak, means, "Hey, pal, you may or may not get one. Feelin' lucky?"
If I already plan on going to the cons in question, I'll go and try to get the swag w/o placing too much credence on whether I score them or not. But I'll again never let the WizKids' booth be the deciding factor on whether I attend or not.
Captain America: C'mere, let me get a closer look at that big gash on your cheek.
Bruce Banner: But I haven't got a gash on my cheek.
Number one people should get off the case of those who spent a couple hundred dollars to get to LA to try and buy this figure. They have every right to be upset and have every right to ask wizkids howthey plan on rectifying this situation. We will try todo better does not rectify the situation. That is the excuse a teacher gets from akid aftr flunking a test or getting into trouble. And i dont see anyone on here saying gimme a free Galactu. What i see is a request for a solution so that they're concernds will be allayed.
If i was injured at a store i would not go back if they simply sade we wil try to make it safer. I would want to know what was being done. Wizkids could alay a lot of concerns by just being up front and give a ballpark figure of how many Galactus' will sow up at the cons. That way reasonble people will not go away with the feeling that I got screwed. ]
Wizkids has done a lot in the past few months to damage their credibility with us fans and if they were my company i would go into crisis mode to try and win back my customers. I remember how much fun ths site and this game used to be. Wizkids has sucked a lot of fun out of it for me in the past few months. I am not saying i am quiting but i am letting a copany i used to be very fond of know how they have disifranchised their customers and offering helpful solutions on how to win back our trust and support.
Thekey to good business is that the costumer is always right. what ive seen in the past few months is that the customer s always screwed

Okay, here's one for the powers at WizKids. They sure go into great detail about not everyone is guaranteed a Galactus figure and how you the consumer will have other opportunities to purchase a figure.
Well, why not make enough to sell to all that want it?
Are you not a business?
Do you want to make money?
How does creating ill will towards your loyal customers make you more money?
"Sealed with a curse,
sharp as a knife,
Doomed is your soul,
D@mned is your life!"
Prices are out of control on eBay: WizKids' fault. 99% of the attendees who wanted a Galactus at WWLA left empty handed: Wizkids' fault. We still have no idea exactly how limited Galactus is or will be when all production stops: Wizkids' fault.
all they have to say is "sorry, spend more money at the next Convention".
I don't think its reasonable to expect them to send out 25,000 of them to the WWLA atendees.. but a solution to adress those people should be arrived at other than "sorry, you lose, thanks for the cash, try again next time." some sort of sinscere attempt to mitigate the problem, which is mostly the huge sums of money shelled out for a nice big serving of disapointment; GAURANTEED!
(1% is a close to nobody getting one as you can get without resorting to decimals)
This is an empty apology. but at least its an apology.
