*shrugs* I Think 20% was pretty Close when I did my hoard bustings. I have had reports of bigger hoard bustings where 20% was too low. But as I said, it really depends on the starting Point.
No doubt.
(Freaky side note...as soon as I typed the above, No Doubt began to play on the radio at work.)
Having lots of champs in the higher end range is going to result in more rewards of 7, 8, 15, or 25 CP versus the lower guys only pulling in 2, 3, or 5.
Ahh...I bet I know how it would get that high.
There'd be a sort of recursion that would happen.
(Using the basic averages above, disregarding BHs...very rough)
Average per pull reward:
2.5 CP
40 HP
1125 ISO
.1 LT
Say you make 350 pulls.
That will be 300 4*.
Resulting in
750 CP
12,000 HP
337,500 ISO
30 LT
That gets you 60 more pulls. In turn, those 60 pulls will get you about 52 4*.
130 CP
2080 HP
58,500 ISO
5 LT
That gets you 9 more pulls. In turn those get you about 8 4*.
20 CP (+5 CP left from above)
320 HP
9,00 ISO
1 LT (maybe 0, but we are going rough)
That's 2 more pulls.
After all of the "layers" of recursion factor into things, then I suppose it is higher.
So that results in around 70-71 pulls.
When you are looking at 350 original pulls, then yes, that is about 20%.
I was just looking at one level of returns in my original calcs.
Yeah, I meant to post about this earlier, but I forgot until I was reminded in the in-game chat.
I hit a new mpq low last night.
I am shooting for T20 in the Howard PVE because I would like to get the two Worthy covers. If I get that and then the progression one, I will be up to nine covers for him, so I'll only need one more for when (if) he is required in a Training.
Due to the slice I choose, I sometimes have some difficulty getting that high.
I was running pretty steady in the T20 (about 15th) so far. But too many times I get overtaken in that last sub and get bumped out of T20.
So last night, going into sub 3 I set an alarm to wake up at 2am in order to get my first four clears in right away.
I woke up at 1:55, hit the head, and then plowed my way through those clears before going back to sleep. I did pretty well on speed, too, I think, finishing at 2:44.
Anyway, normally I'd not get started until maybe 6ish, and even then I'd just be hitting a node here and there and probably not finish until around 7:30, so that'll be a nice 3-5 more hours of point regeneration than I'd usually get. I'm hoping that will be enough to hold onto T20.

I have done this. I feel seen.

This is also my normal play speed. About how much faster should I expect to be if I champ my 5*s?

You should go to sleep early, set an alarm for 1am. Won't you be even more annoyed with yourself if you do NOT do this and end up #21. (This has happened to me - #21 by about 100 points)

I don't understand. Why is this low? This is "how we play".
This is why I lean towards the 7am EST slice. During the week, I can usually play before work to finish my clears. If it's an important event, I'll clear my 7-8 slot and get 'er done. Otherwise the 4 clears are played throughout the day. On weekends, it's easy to set my alarm for 6, play till about 8, then get on with my day.

I found it to be an interesting stat to acquire. As I mentioned, my normal clears are made while working around other things, like breakfast, letting the dogs out, or whatever. I seldom have the opportunity to just continuously hit the opening clears.

That's not a bad idea. My fear would be hitting a barrier and being unable to get those last clears in in time. Or worse, falling back asleep in the middle of it and not even getting those clears. (What I did last night was not much of a risk like that, since at worst I'd just do what I do on a normal day.)

It is a silly phone app. Disrupting a sleep schedule to do better is a little more than I'd ever predicted myself doing.

Yeah, the 7am and the 11pm slices are sooooo close to being what I would like, but they are just in spots where I cannot get a 100% guarantee of being able to finish as other things might jump in the way.
I do wonder if jumping to 5* land would improve my speed enough to make those slices more viable for my schedule.

So sounds like the alarm should be set for 12:30am. #helping

YOU'RE SILLY!!!!!
My girlfriend and I are about to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. She was gloating that it was my second-longest relationship. I had to correct her ... with MPQ, she's 3rd.

What constitutes a relationship here?
You and I go back further than that. I know that you go even further back with guys like Lee.
It almost sounds like you are including only the ones where the relationship includes the smooshing together of the naughty bits, but then you are including mpq, so I'm not exactly sure how you are defining a relationship here.
Unless, of course, you are playing this game far differently than me.

I could just lie about making the jump and tell you how wonderful it is.
Norm, did you play when the PvE nodes refreshed in 2 and a half hours instead of 24? I know most other guys posting here started well after that.
Playing the game in Europe before time slices were introduced was special too. PvE flipped at 6AM, PvP at 7AM. Oh, and we didn't have shields either so if you wanted to place well you needed to play at the end and hope you gained more points than you lost.
Now get off my lawn.

Well, I got T20, so I got the two Worthy covers to take me up to 8.
The progression would have gotten me to 9, but the token from the HAT wave node got me the Worthy from the vault, so it looks like after progression I will already have my 10.
MARVEL PUZZLE QUEST is always evolving and improving. This last year's Anniversary was another success, with two new story events that had record setting numbers of players going through them. As we move out of the Anniversary events themselves, we'll continue to do this with not only new events but also new features.
For example, one of the biggest things players have been asking for is a way to direct progress towards given characters, especially those that aren't directly featured in a given pack. Both the Saved Heroes and Bonus Heroes systems help with this, but we can go even further. Directed progress is super important for players to feel as if they can get more powerful by playing to have the tools they need to succeed.
By working with this new coming soon feature, players will be able to choose which characters they want to directly go for and get covers to complete. On top of this, the feature is visible and easily trackable, so players will always know how close they are to that next character milestone.
This feature has been a focus of our development recently, along with our continued engine updates. We're excited to provide you more info in the coming weeks, but wanted to provide you with a little teaser today!
So, it sounds like you will be able to set it so that if you pull a 4* then it will be the chosen character. (Or maybe a higher chance that it will be that character.)
I see why some people would like that, but I am not sure that it is really healthy for the game. I feel like the BHs are a good method to provide some targeted pulls without disrupting the chance/luck aspect.
I am probably in the minority in thinking this.
But seriously, for the most part, I can tell you right now which characters will be chosen frequently and which ones will almost never be chosen.
I am hoping that there is some sort of balance put in to offset this. Like, you can set it so that any 5* you pull is Kitty, but the drop rate goes from 1:7 to 1:10 or something.
I'm not reading it the same way. To me, it looks like there will be a new thing in the game whereby you can earn "points" and that as you accumulate those points, they will result in a cover of the toon you have specified. this all sounds like it is all in addition to normal pulls of covers (and BH).
The questions I have are
1. How do these points get earned?
2. Are you limited to requesting a specific toon, or can you specify the exact cover?
3. What gets taken away as a result of this new feature?

Ok, I can see that now, and I think your on the right track.
Those are good questions. I could see many options, but I would lean toward something that keeps people playing the game more, like you get them when you turn a PVE node green. (Of course, if it is that, then there will be the inevitable change shortly thereafter when pvp players raise a stink.)
I would pose another question and wonder if there will be any sort of ret-conning, depending on the methodology of distributing those points.
You may remember when CLs were introduced. They took everyone’s current roster and had a formula to determine that you would be at some level, then you began at that level and were given the accumulation of the rewards for the levels you jumped. That was one heck of a windfall, iirc. It enabled me to make the jump to 4* land.
While it would be cool, I would guess that will not happen. From the sounds of it, I don’t know how they could implement something like that. Like if I was given, say 70 4* and 10 5* covers, it would seem somewhat silly to have it be that you get to choose one character for each * and get that many covers for it.
Now that I think about this, what I would love to see...though this does not sound like where they are going...would be that you earn general cover points that could be redeemed whenever you want on whatever you want, similar to the way they have multiple options to buy covers for a character now.
Right now you can go into a character and there is an “upgrade with” section that allows you to purchase specific covers using that cover OR cashing in saved covers OR spending CP. Just add a new option to purchase with cover points.
