simply play test both and see what you like better.
and yes each turn apoc can trash two resources, but it really should not last that long.
just remember, 3 basic hints when playing x-men.
always mulligan for cerebro, if you get that going by turn 4, and draw 4 cards per turn, you will hit your curve.
go for evens, look at their curve.
nightcralwer- offesneive
logan- a huge defensive wall.
rogue- not the best attacker, use her flight to hit the back, and have logan attack up, he will be stunned, but you want him gone anyway.
james holwett- another wall, your opponenet will have to waste two attacks to take him down, and maybe more if you have cards like burn rubber and combat relfexes to stick him back into the front row( remember, his power works even if he is allready exhausted, as long as he is in the front and you have the cards, he is not going anywhere, on offense and defense)
colossus- a huge bruiser, capable of stunning alot 7 drops.
prof X- can stun back, and burn, comboe's great with rogue.
etrigan( or apoc, but i play with etrigan) he comes into play and your opponenet is stuck with no resources.
and finally rule number 3- turn 6 is key.
save at least one bamf for this turn, get yourself in a good position to survive through 7. during turn 7, makes sure you have the nasty suprises to stun magneto, so you can recover your guys. if at all possible finishing move or ko their 6 drop, espicially bastion and sinstro.
i hope i have been at all helpful, but just enjoy playing a fun deck.
i know i said that this would be my new HQ for all things foolish. but i have some tech for x-stall and i don't wanna ruin the current discussion onthe other thread.
system failure and savage beatdown can allow you lock down attacker. it is not as nasty as overload, but it will help you control the field as well
system fialure works better for decks that don't want to attack, cuz in most decks even if you remove an attacker, you will will still have to go through that big wall to deal damage, but in x-stall you don't need to go through him, just let him set there and growl.
i will work on updating my x-stall deck, with graveistes- much better than cerebro, as it helps you keep your off-team guys like Puppet master and mimic, and see if i can squezze in some SF/Sb's
Okay, so as I understand it, the OTHER thread is for the current discussion, SO:
Has anybody tried building an X-Men weenies deck that utilizes Birthing Chamber and possibly Genosha and possibly Breaking Story and possibly <insert card drawing ability here>?
I don't know if it's feasible, meaning, if there is enough draw power, but I was wondering if anyone had tried.
well you should look into resuerecting stu's pygmis in apinata decks.
he used cyclops, slim and blackbird to give wild sentinels ungodly stats, fastball special to take out bigger drops, and primary directives, in which he drew his entire deck 2-3 times at a 10K.
you can update it with birthign chamber and such to give it more draw power, and bamfs as well. geez that deck is old, he played it before bamf was out.
anyway here is what i think an updated version of x-stall should look like,
ok, the numbers may be way off, i have not played x-stall for a very long time, but here are some things i believe that may work.
system failure + savage beatdown= another attacker exhausted and not hitting me. once your opponent realizes you are playing x-stall, he is going to have to race you and try to do as much damage as possible before you reach turn 8. so he may over extend himself without your help, but in case he needs that little boost, you have a beatdown waiting.
gravesite over cerebro- sure it works for your opponent too, but he is playing more cards than you. x-stall is a characters based stall deck, where as doom is more plot twist, with RoT and the likes. he may get to the point, where he has to discard everything he draws, and discard is another form of taking away the opponents option.
gravesites also allows you to snag those off-team characters,, with cerebro, you lost pupper master and mimic and imperiex to the bottom of your deck, gravesite won't do that.
you stil some insurance against rush decks, maybe some flame traps are in order, but that would get rid of PM.
hmm.. maybe some swift escapes would work too, so you can use PM, swift escape, flame trap, replay PM and use his effect again.
i am just brainstorming right now. anyone else have any ideas?
1st of all: where do I find these Stu decks you mentioned, I did a search & nothing came up
2nd: How did he draw his whole deck, or will I see that when I see the deck?
3rd: Why did his deck fail ultimately (become discontinued)?
4th: You mention the card "system failure", but I don't know, nor can I find what that is
5th: For your stall deck I would recommend Shadowcat as your back up 3 drop, so if you miss Logan, she's still got really high Def for a 3-drop
6th: I would also suggest . . . James Howlett for your (main?) 5-drop. You are already playing burn Rubbers, and I think JH is a great stall mechanism being as how he can't be stunned for multiple attacks (especially when you have one or more burn rubbers)
7th: I'm not sure, as I mentioned, what this system failure/beatdown combo you have does, but if you find it to be not too useful/hard to get the combo, you could consider Crowd Control. I've never tried a stall deck, but it occurs to me that on your off init turns, giving your whole board reinforcement & sticking them in the back might be a fine way to stall a turn with minimal damage.
it allows you to remove an attacker from the attack if his attack is high. so we can give the attacker a beatdown, and make him stay exhausted, instead of whacking us inthe face.
then we can use PM, rogue, and mimic to exhaust everyone else.

reasonings-
the character is basically the same no need to go into it, except for scarlet witch, the brotherhood one. she puts a crimp in burn based decks, one of x-stalls biggest weakness.
for the plot twist, i exchanged cerbero with gravesites. and used crowd control over burn rubber.
crowd control can give everyone reinforcement, play it during the build phase, with everyone in the back row, once it resolves, then move people to where you want, and they will retain reinforcement for the rest of the turn.
system failure/savage beatdown acts as an entangle that cost you two cards, but you don't have to exhaust any one to use, so you use your guys to exhaust for their powers. plus beatdown can work on the attack, if you feel the need to go crazy and do that kind of thing.
with pleasant distraction on your attack, and system failure/savage beatdown on their attack, you can use plot twist to keep things locked, and then still have your characters to do the job too.
