I am officially commandeering this thread as the "make Truffle's aches and pains go away" thread. Wine, grapes, fan waving, togas, lithe dancers, both male and female. Endless food.

It's Truffle's Toga Monday!
You already got the whine. I'll supply the BSG DVD's.

Hey, give me a break. It's going on three days and I'm only feeling a tiny bit of relief. I think I have at least another two or three days of pain. It probably doesn't help that Saturday, the day one of pain, I did wash, which means up and down two to three flights of stairs. I kept hoping it would work the pain out. Just didn't happen.
Thank you for the DVDs btw. They've taken my mind off it a little.
As for entertainment, I can offer the soundtrack to "The Princess and the Frog" - with a big fat alligator playing loud jazz on a trumpet!! (The girls only watched the movie three times over the weekend and I already know all of the lyrics to the songs...)

One of my favorite episodes of Supernatural is playing on TNT right now. The one where Jensen sings Eye of the Tiger at the end. Dean is afraid of everything ... love it when he jumps when the locker is opened.

I'm not a fan of jazz, but I might like that. Thanks Chuckles.
Plus - if you like Disney, you'll like the soundtrack in spite of the jazz.

My Lady Truffles, I come from the far far far far far okaymaybenotsofarbutstillkindafar west, bearing gifts of food and wine. Behold!
Lobster, Shrimp, and Parmesean Scampi!
Beef and Potato Burritos!
Whatever the hell you concoct from Mongolian Grill!
Wood-fire grilled burgers!
And for wine, we look no further than James Arthur Vineyards (My actual favorite vineyard, no lie)!
We'll start off with Edelweiss, which is a very expensive wine (that I always have in stock. ). Edelweiss is a well balanced wine that creates quite a sensation of sweetness in the front of the palate with a burst of tartness as it dances across the tongue and heads towards the finish, creating a sweet yet complex wine. Full of green apple flavors, this is a wine that won’t be forgotten. The best suggested pairings for this wine would be with fresh fruit, or completely on its own as an appetizer, or a dessert wine. I typically break this out at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and it's always a hit.
Then we hit the Honey Mead, which is basically the point where we just give up on it tasting like wine anymore, and just drink alcoholic syrup. Hell with it.
Then we get serious again, and get into Nebraska White. Yet another that I always have in ample supply. This light semi-dry white is made from 100% Vignoles. Tank fermented, the nose on this wine roars out of the glass with a freshness that you’ll not soon forget. Although a dry style wine, you get a burst of crisp fruitiness on the front end of the palate, which couples nicely with a bit of acidity on the finish, that helps it cut through heavy food flavors. This wine would pair nicely with typical poultry dishes, but would also hold its end of the bargain with foods featuring thick sauces, preferably of Italian flair. This wine should be drunk within 2-3 years of its inception. This usually means that I have to consume it regularly. Which, if there was a list of things that really bothered me, it'd rank at the bottom.
And then, for all of the romantic encounters that Thawmus doesn't have, he brings out the Amo Te. A clever combination of DeChaunac (red grape) and St. Pepin (white grape).
JAV’s Amo Te` is Latin for “I Love You” (from an interesting story about notes being sent back and forth between James Arthur and Neenie when in different high schools across the street in Austin, Minnesota.), our Amo Te is like a fruit cocktail in a bottle. Full of tropical fruit flavors, this wine is almost dangerous it goes down so easy.
I just drink it alone. Again: Hell with it.
I bring these gifts to you, Lady Truffles of the Philadelphian Empire, and hope that you enjoy them, in this time of suffering.

We could give you some heavy narcotics to make you think all that is happening... But the pains are normal for just starting to work out will go away in a few weeks

Edelweiss wins awards every year. It goes at about 20 bucks a bottle, a little less if you get it from the winery direct. Which I do, since I only live an hour from the winery.
Pretty romantic spot, too, which makes it inherently depressing for an ever-single guy like me, but a little wine tasting takes away that emotion rather quickly.
EDIT: I'm actually a big fan of Chardonnay, which they don't make, and that makes me sad. Chard goes really well with fish and a lot of other foods that you'd put a lot of butter on. I get some slick deals on crab legs at my local Hyvee all the time, so I make that pairing quite often. But, it's always boxed wine. I really wish James Arthur made it, because it'd probably be awesome.
Other problem with Chard - Hard to get anyone else to drink it with me. Lot of people hate dry wine. And Chard is pretty dry.
I'm so gay.
