I see they had an announcement about the event system. So how do we go to Heroclix.com to just search for other venues holding events? I'm going to talk to our owner so I can just run it for him because I know he's far too busy to enter events himself.

Good luck!
I imagine that once they're set up (in the system) matters will flow smoothly, though I expect there to be some bumps in the road at first. Good luck!
Thanks for the bump to my sale thread to those that bumped. For those that looked, did I have my prices too high on the GSX Colossals? Nobody is biting at ALL. Oddly enough, I sold my extra Anti-Monitor, though.

While I understand what you're aiming for with the TRU (momentary) exclusives - you did go and buy them, plus sales tax, and you'll have to pack them for shipping - at $30 it is essentially a 50% mark-up, so I can understand people shying away.
I bought two of the Frost Warriors (or whatever they're calling this version) from TRU's site back on the 18th (the mule they've tied them to is scheduled to finally reach me tomorrow) at $19.99 each, and I was already feeling guilty about that after having recently bought the Mark II/V Sentinels from Toad and Troll for around half that price each. My expectation is that I'll eventually see similar prices to remind me that I probably shouldn't have been so impatient.
For what it's worth, maybe the best way I can describe my initial feelings about trying to buy the Wave 2 TRU colossals is to use the example of the balloon that suddenly loses its air.
'Cause immediately after I just missed out on being able to order them (a Nemesis and Frost Warrior) online -- they vanished from my cart as I was typing the AmEx info -- I felt deflated.
I'd like to acquire this new version of Nemesis, but since missing out in getting one online from TRU, I've started coming to terms with the fact that there's only so much water to be pulled up from the well. Funds are indeed limited, especially at this time of year.
Right now, I'm thinking that there's a perfect storm of sorts at work here. With Christmas coming and all the clix product that will be made readily available to us in December, I guess I just feel "meh" now about going out of my way to get the colossals.
Don't know if anybody else feels this way, but I'm reminded of something baseball's Branch Rickey once said about how sometimes, the best deals are the ones you don't make.
In a weird kind of way, I'm almost glad I missed out on being able to order those two colossals. 'Cause had the order gone through, I would have had to make a major adjustment in my clix budget to accommodate such good luck.
So, I'm content to wait and see what happens.
That said...there always will be folks who can't wait and whose resources enable them to satisfy their urges in a more timely manner. Best of luck, Rob, in having one or more find your sale thread!

Tim Burton was right: "A square jaw does not a Batman make." Steve Buscemi as the next Batman! Luke Perry as Joker! Let's make it happen!

I'm actually beginning to wonder if Wizkids will have there end of things up and running enough before events are supposed to start. I don't remember seeing anything in regards to players registering. Or was that something that was part of the BiBtB that I couldn't purchase enough product to participate in so never bothered registering?
Seemed like there might have been a fair amount of room for retailers to fudge the system just for the prize kits to sell.
I hate to be critical because it seems awesome. I'm just wondering if this might have been better done with later sets. Maybe ironed out a few more particulars.
Wizkids doesn't seem to like the idea of working bugs out of the system before they roll it out. They just seem to let things go and put out the fires on the fly. It hasn't been a terrible way to go, and it has certainly allowed them to churn out product and ideas faster than might have otherwise been possible. But I gotta wonder if it is the smartest course of action.

In my opinion, generally no. As you probably noticed with my insistence on doing my best to rain on everyone's parade with my anti-Bethesda assertions earlier today, that's my big complaint about that studio. They churn out ideas faster than they should and release an unpolished product that I find turns me off and prevents their games from becoming the masterpieces that they could be. If they took the time to fully realize everything they start we would have less games, but I think it would be worth it.
The same thing I think is true of Heroclix. It doesn't ruin the game to have a bunch of half-baked ideas presented to us and then fixed with repeated stopgap measures later, obviously. After all, there's still a Heroclix community, and it seems to be growing. I think we would generally be better off it they took it slower and were more careful, but clearly that's not their prerogative and I suppose it's worked well so far.

The thing is even if they take the time there will still be something wrong. The difference would be that people might tell that they took the time. There is no way to foresee everything. The fling crap at the wall until something sticks plan may be fun but at times I don't think it is the best course of action.
Well, I guess the good has outweighed the bad in the long run, because we are all still here and they are selling more product than ever.
Or at least that's the way it looks on the surface. Really though, how long will it be before Alliance and Diamond stop pre-ordering in such ludicrous quantities as to create the early sell-outs that we have seen from the past few sets? If stores are having problems moving the product, you'd have to think their current practices would change eventually. I know things are still doing well, but I don't think that it's disputed that Cap and Superman didn't sell as well as GSX or DC75. And Hulk looks to be on course for the same or worse. Will things change when NECA/Wizkids start to sit with unsold product on their warehouse shelves?

I've wondered about that myself. I think what will happen is one of two things maybe both. You'll see an increase in sales gimmicks like the chase and BiBtB and/or a decrease in production so you'll hear that sell out BS again and again.

Actually, I kinda prefer action over the alternative.
Of course, in recalling a former employer, I once piped up during a meeting with this candid observation about the tendency to, uh, ponder things: "There's more foot-dragging in this place than The Mummy's Tomb."
That said...it's not lost on me that folks' view of the world they live in is shaped, for better or worse, by prior experiences --- some delivering more of a wallop than others.
As a life experience, The Great Hiatus of Heroclix is unworthy of a comparison to The Great Depression (to say the least). But in the context of gaming, the uncertainty and absence of new product during those dark days left a lot of loyal customers feeling disenfranchised.
And I have to admit, that has colored and shaped the way I view just about anything new that's clix-related since NECA/WK took over. Holy Crow, I'm just pleased as punch to see that new stuff is coming out or is already available.
Aw, what can I say? I'm easy.
As always...just my two cents.

Agreed, but how long can they ride that train? We already have new players in the game that know nothing of the "Year without Heroclix."
They won't have that to fall back on for very much longer.

I think just having product without concern for quality can only last so long.
That is one mentality that would bug me is the it's not what wizkids can do for you but what you can do for wizkids. The idea that it was ok for you to have to fix the figures missing glue or modifying the dial so it would turn. That just doesn't fly. I'm paying money for this. I'm not donating money.
