One hitch here is that Nifty was killed by rival scum. THat may not mean anything but it's worth noting that would indicate that the rival scum thought he was town. I say that because weakening a rival scum team this early cuts down their options to get kills through and hampers both teams. I conclude that the HCPD thought Nifty was town but would not garner protections. Plus as one of the few claimed individuals, getting rid of him makes sense.

Who came to Nifty's defense yesterday? JoH did true enough if only by corroborating power, but who else? It might give a good indication as to who could be HCPD.

On the other hand, ERS seemed pretty darn clear. You could have offered to him.

I offered my ability. I asked if there had been power claims to see if I could help a strong townie. Nobody took me up on my offer or pointed out any power claims.

I went into the night believing Rokk to be a townie and Nifty to be a townie.

I don't know Rokk's power and he'd likely target me if it was investigative or offensive, which is no help.

Nifty had (or appeared to have) an information gathering role and would have definitely not targeted me. That was worth discounting if he was town but he turned out to be mafia.
