Man I miss the good old days when hookers were cheap. It's like were in a clix point recession now. *shakes head*
In JJ's defense, he doesn't waste an action clicking onto the Perplex, and Con Artists didn't ever have a power that effectively nerfed half the wildcards in the environment.
He's still the cheapest perplex in the environment, which will get him some play. I for one will crack up every time I see the ol' skinflint out on the battlefield. Between him and Megan Fox, I can see people pumping up a pretty solid tank figure; a fragile but effective first strike tactic.

Black Bolt of the Vegas Illuminati
Also, it seems so far that JJ can't cancel Spidey TA that is copying Batman Ally (if they are in hindering, of course), and yes, the range is unlimited.
Chameleon's up on the front page.
Defensively, he's awesome.
Offensively, he's non-existent.
Seriously, I have no idea what I'd do with this guy. Slowly walk him across the battlefield, dodging bullets, to not damage anybody. That'd be fine if he had prob, perplex, outwit... maybe some kind of modified penetrating damage dealer...
He's a really safe incapper.

So I went back to defend my title with the T-bolts.
They are a good solid team even against HSS, its an uphill fight a bit but still competitive.
Zemo
Songbird
Venom
Pennance
Citizen V
Moonstone
+ Yellow Lantern
+ Everyone gets Tbolts ATA
496
What I went up against was a kick in the pants.
First round against
Full BA+Shazam (starting on Shazam of course)
Gamora
Bats/Cats
MAP = crash site
He hid behind a wall to try and pick up Thor's Hammer so I had zemo RS to break a wall and Moonstone RS and psy-blast him for three (with help from the yellow lantern).
he missed most of his attack rolls, though I had chosen mystics. I ended up koing Gamora and it went to time. he almost KOed moonstone but the mystic damage would have killed bats/cats I think.
Next to me I see who I am fighting next. Guardian of fear Anti-monitor with Megan Fox and the perplexer from Hex set and LE diana prince. and in that game he got Anti-M to pick up the hammer... yeah other guy was screwed.
Other guy had
Skrull-vell
HoT Cap
50 point Spidey
and some other figs I did not see.
Any way round 2 against Anti-M
it boilded down too he was scared to attack because of mystics so he just used Anti-Ms auto damage power.
despite +2 def from perplex I managed to slowly knock him down and take out his support. I got him down to his toughness pulse wave clicks and but venom missed and cit V missed there attacks and he got to pulse wave. game ended with him having killed pennance songbird and Moonstone. had we had one more turn I would have actually KOed Anti-M.
I made an early mistake with Moonstone. The standard Moonstone play is to push to her second click so she gets ESD. he was a mistake because it allowed anti-M to do 2 free clicks to her and right off of 3 damage R/S clicks. Anti-M is also immune to shape change so that hurt a little too.
The screwy part is the way this venue does time for the rounds.
First off they started 30-40 min late. Second they started the time before we even had chosen map and set up.
To add insult to injury me and the guy who ran Anti-M go indigo lanterns and he other 2 rolled off for a ... Chase sue Richards.
I went 1-1 and got second. we didn't have time for a 3rd round.
I totally did not expect to run up against Anti-M...
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.

400 modern min 6 fig team and must be a keyword team.
The concept behind the format is to allow army/generic/minion type teams to be competitive. This was the most balanced and most broad format we could come up with.
There are still plent of BatB LE figs available as prizes at Oasis. If you still need a Bruce, Clark, or Diana come on out. At this point we are giving them out as participation prizes to those who don't have them. If you do win, you can get an extra as trade fodder if you want it. Or a nice obsolete ATA, your choice.
We has a new player today as well. Just moved here from San Fransico (I think). Has experience and knows his way around the map, should be a nice addition to the environment.
Eric had an off day today, throwing up 2 shutout losses and a bye. And it was his scenario idea. The reason is he ran a Fantastic Four keyword team featuring the LE Ben Grimm. That figure is cursed just like his starter counterpart. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a shotgun. I like both of the dials, but have never seen them win. They sucked in playtesting for Throg, and I believe Dustin's loss to Nick at Throg was with his double Thing team. Not going to argue with clix karma and never pulling those figures out of my box again.
I played an X-Men team centered around Uncommon Xavier. Never played him on a non Illuminati team before and wanted to see how he works. His Brilliant Tact power is nice, but not worth the points you put into him. Even with X-swarm, still can't get enough use out of him. You have to dedicate a flyer to ferry him around, which adds more to the cost of the mechanic. He made a decent amnt of attacks (including a Mind Control of Ben Grimm to KO Black Panther) but doesn't deal enough damage for that point slot. Even with Perplex and Enhancement and pushing him, still couldn't get enough out of him. But this week was a perfect week to test him out.
Might have to bust out some Soldiers for next week, who knows.
I grant you, he delivered a 7 damage Meteor strike to my War Machine, but was punked shortly after that. He also missed every attack roll in the first game.
His juice all seemed to have been taken out after SI.
