It's ok tho. CuCr really does tend to make cracks about people he likes. He limits it to how much they can take. Only Lusi was known not to be able to take it, and now, Lusi is a drifter, drifting from thread to thread, without ever coing back on to any trivia threads.

Ok, then. This next question is a Superman question;
Jerry Siegel came up with the name "Clark Kent" by using the first names of two different actors. Who were those actors?
Is that true? I've always heard that he came up with "Clark Kent" by using the first names of two pulp magazine heroes.
Shuster said Siegel came up with the names by combining the names of two actors. I never heard of the "two pulp mag hero" story till you just now said that.

Yeah, they way I always heard it, the name came from Doc Savage (whose full name was Clark Savage, Jr.) and The Shadow (whose real name was Kent Allard).
I can guess easily what actor one name came from, but the other one I have no idea. And I'm an old movie fan.

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men, LaMont Cranston knows... unless it's in book form, then it's Kent Allard.
I thought at least one of the actors would be easy. You don't have to be Boston Blackie to figure out one of them, as he was popular at the time, damn it... which of course, means, it's not Tim Dalton. As for the other actor...

No, "Lamont Cranston" was never the Shadow's real name, even on the radio. Lamont Cranston was a wealthy socialite whose identity the Shadow took over, to move about in society when he needed to. "The Shadow's face", he was called. The man who became the Shadow was born Kent Allard.
