Yeah, I am just amazed on how well the actors nail these characters. D'Onofrio/Kingpin deserves every award possible. I almost root for the Kingpin. And the guy playing Foggy Nelson kills it too.
I hope we see Murdock in a daredevilish costume soon, but otherwise, I couldn't ask for more.
The dude playing Daredevil is the most impressive to me. I've seen other stuff he was in (The Merchant of Venice, Stardust, The Theory of Everything), and those characters were nothing like the tough and gritty Matt Murdock. He's also another British dude who is just nailing the accent.
Jesus. this thread is going nowhere, and doing it slowly. For that one or two day period, I thought we might get back to our normal pace, what with Smudge and Spike and Muncho, etc stopping by.
Then all the pee in the corner scared them away again.

Yeah, he's totally my new man crush. One of my best date movie experiences ever was Stardust (dating my now wife), and to see the guy now as a ripped, ninja, super smart badass is a huge shift. I do wish they'd at least tried the redhead thing somehow, but it's a small price to pay to see such a great product on the screen.
I thought season 2 was even better, Hoff! And I loved Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Still not sure of the direction or character of Iron Fist but it was a decent lead-in to The Defenders (which I've been enjoying!).
Speaking of Netflix, they just released a movie of Deathnote. It isn't bad but, if you have the time, the anime tells a more satisfying story. There's a lot of cat and mouse/plot twists that just can't fit into a film.
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

I thought season 2 was very good, but I'm not sure if I liked it better than season one. However, they're both a 9 out of 10 in my book (on sale at Amazon.com).
Jessica Jones...great.
Luke Cage...great.
Iron Fist...
...
...
not so much.
However, Defenders...GREAT!

The choreography on the team fight scenes reminded me of The Avengers. Watched that repeatedly.
Thank you for the tip on Deathnote. I'll try to watch the anime.

I'll warn you that if you aren't a subtitles kinda guy, some of the dubbed voice actors don't exactly fit (at least in my head). Actually it's mostly the voice of "L." He's pictured as this hyper-active, candy-eating, perches rather than sits, type-character who even looks a bit manic but the voice is deep and calm which I was initially put off by. But that is pretty much the only issue I have with the dubbed version.

Welcome to the Last Poster Thread, hosted by BudPalmer and wintremute. This week, our special guest will be The Hoff. Our people are also in contact with a mystery man who has the initials C.L. Hopefully he will make an appearance later this week.
So, Bud, now that football season is finally here, what are your predictions?
