Very tempted to also buy some cheap controllers as our joycons are easily affected by drift, particularly the left ones for some reason. Probably won't get better racing...
Mine have started the dreaded drift issues. Nothing to really be done about it as they're outside the warranty window. Not too big a deal as I have other controllers I can use, but it is still disappointing.

I don't think the regional distributor offers any warranty, from what I hear you can send the controllers in but they will probably just say nothing can be done.

Nintendo has been repairing them for people if you've owned them less than a year, but there's currently a lawsuit against them. Not sure the status of it, though.

I know that, but as far as I have been able to determine it's not a realistic option for me.

I hear people have success with a pretty simple cleaning, either with compressed air or with isopropyl alcohol at the base of the stick. I can try to google some instructions sometime later if I remember.
I also have a left Joy-Con with the Bluetooth issues where I have to stay very close to the console for it to properly maintain connection.
Maybe I'm too old and conventional, but I don't think Smash and Minecraft are a good fit. I do hope it will bring a new audience though. But there were tons of Nintendo characters left unexplored. Anyway, I hear a lot of positive reactions as well, so hope people will enjoy it
I love Mario Kart, did we ever have a Mario Kart mafia? (maybe too similar to Smash, but could be fun with Blue Shells, Banana's, etc)
I think it's ridiculous the amount of money they ask for new controllers, here in Europe it's 79 or 80 euro's. And then they start drifting, a year or two after purchase.

There was a Mario kart Mafia before my time I think and I have been playing for over a decade. Another is probably overdue if anything.

There definitely was at least one done in Double Dash style. I can't remember much of the details, but I remember I came in second place.
I’m concerned I may have to disown my kid. While she’s always been fond of Star Wars - her second word after “Dada” was “Jedi” much to my ex’s chagrin - she admitted to me tonite that she doesn’t understand how the Millennium Falcon is the coolest and most beautiful thing in the entire franchise...
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

This is fantastic.

The funny thing is because she used to dress as OG Leia, I wouldn’t wear a Han Solo outfit to take her trick or treating, so some Hallowe’ens I would start growing a beard in August to be ready as armoured up General Kenobi. Yet she would always call me Darth Dada (and we even have these books of Vader trying to raise the kids with amusing bits like Leia trying to introduce him to Han over dinner). So she loves Vader and even now still treats him like he’s a heroic character.
(My nephews picked up the habit and “officially” call me Darth Uncle. I think I would prefer Grand Moff Uncle but admit Darth Uncle rolls off the tongue easier).

I am taking notes on this for when I get to see my baby niece next month. Darth Uncle has a nice ring to it.

Smash Bros and anything is a good fit. There are no bad inclusions. I've never played Minecraft, but Steve looks fun. I love that his style is jarring. He looks so out if place and that's amazing.
I still want Rex/Pyra above all else, but Steve is a great addition.
