A couple things to consider looking at the set list...and the box art.
1) Gambit. Perhaps this set finally goes with the "it doesn't have to be in the main set to be an LE" formula. Or, more likely, he's a duo with Rogue (or some other machination) in the giant booster.
2) Jean Grey. The one shown is a white costume, a la Endsong. The one on the box is green. Could we see a new giant-sized Phoenix?
The X-Universe is vast and I'm damn glad we're getting Brotherhood 616 FINALLY. That said, I'm genuinely surprised there's no Havok, Cable, or Kitty Pryde. Then again, LE's could surprise us...or they could all show up in the next Marvel set.
For me, I'm looking at 18 definites, 6 possibles, plus the generics. Should be within reason to acquire (without violating my signature).

It's great to see many never before seen figs and some that desperately needed an update. But, with the inclusion of the Mindless Ones, I was really hoping to see an updated Dormammu. Really hoping.
out of the 54 characters 49 of them are X-Men related plus all of the duos & the Colossal are probably X-Men related is this going to be the norm. Someways I like it & other ways I don't like it. I would of like to see 10 other characters that have nothing to do with X-Men like Black Bolt, Black Widow, Dormammu, Fallen One, Medusa, Skaar & others
"I wasn't making a personal attack! I was just applying insults and idiotic generalizations to a group of people you might be a part of! You shouldn't respond to my generalizing you indirectly!"
i can't wait to see what new set of powers they give the regular wolvie. i Hope they keep the constant healing, but make him more powerful and long lasting. just increase the point value you know?
increase the point value!? have you LOST your MIND!?
AFA the Kitty LE, she could be a repaint of Roulette (Kitty wore a Hellions costume in the original New Mutants' introductory arc of the Hellions ...).
(Although, yes, I hope we see Kitty in one of the duos. The most bizarre piece we could get would be Kitty in the giant bullet as a colossal. )
I'm personally stoked for this set. Although my wallet is crying, seeing how many of those SRs are - for me - must haves ... (JEAN!!! ).
High points for me: The set list - good and bad alike - earns major points from me for following in WoS' footsteps for thematic accuracy. When I hear about a set saying "X-Men," I want the majority of the pieces to be X-related. In that regard, I'm happy with the reveals.
Jean, Scott, Hank, Bobby, and Warren. All in the same set. Just ... yes.
Hellions - the old-school comics geek in me is happy to have Empath, Tarot, and Roulette, and Doug as a figure (even in a Hellions costume) is long overdue. Here's hoping Cannonball isn't as ... lacking in dynamism as his one-time classmates at the Massachusetts Academy, however.
Nextwave - I'm not complaining. They're fun, and Monica, Aaron, Elsa, and the Captain keep the theme from being TOO overwhelming. (But Tabitha had better have the X-Force keyword, or I'll be most cross.
Villain choices? Mystique, Blob, Pyro - long overdue for remakes. Stryfe is a good choice given Apocalypse's presence, and Vulcan's recent appearances make him a no-brainer. Plus, Reavers, Purifiers, Stryker - anti-mutant hatred as a back-up theme? Wouldn't be X-Men without it.
Duo hopes: Cable and Hope, Kitty with someone (Peter would be the most logical, but we're already getting Colossus and Wolverine, and two Colossi in one set seem unlikely), Alex and Lorna, Longshot and updated-costume Dazzler ... I'd even accept Nemesis and Rao, for sheer quirkiness.
A few (VERY few) nitpicks:
No standalone Kitty Pryde. Here's hoping she's a duo with someone.
No Gen X besides Leech and Emma? Not even M, given her X-Factor appearances?
Elixir, Armor ... we're short at least three or four additional New X-Men. At the VERY least, Hellion and Surge could've been added (yeah, I'm glad for the Hellions we're getting, but Julian's played a BIG role lately).
Fitzroy and Gideon? I'd much rather have seen Deathbird (both a Horseman of Apocalypse, and more recently Vulcan's main squeeze) and Vanisher (unrepentant teleporting jerk, but he WAS X-Force's unrepentant teleporting jerk) updated than these two.
Unless Xavier is really an improvement on the M and M one, I'm not interested. Likewise, War-Hulk and Death-Wolverine. They're not bad-looking pieces, but I can live without them.
But these are minor hiccups. GSX is, overall, the update the X-Men needed.
