But it's really only like that if the venue supports that kind of play. I'm sure it's not like this everywhere, and I'm not deluded enough to think that my venue represents the entire Clix populace, but we don't generally have problems with it. Or at least, we didn't when I left it. I guess I'll find out when I come back if we've stayed that way.
My favourite flavour is the only thing that's ever mattered to me. P.S. It's rocky road.
That makes you more reasonable than a LOT of posters on this site.

I like the replacement wing on the X-Wing! A quick air brush or a flat wash would have given even more "field depot replacement" feel to it. Cool idea.
I thought about adding "scorch marks" like it had been grazed by blasters, but I dunno how to pull that off, and those models are really tiny.
Between sponsoring a guy, buying 2 to play with, and trades, I ended up with 5 boosters of WoL wave 2. All told, I got Black Hand, the Hal/ Sinestro, red Lantern Spectre, Dex-Starr, and Morro, plus a couple more Rares.

really fine fishing line, like 4 lb test or so, dipped in a little gun metal or burnt steel type paint, then laid/snapped across the part like a chalk line, worked pretty good for me when I did it on some model airplanes. My models are 1/48 scale, so obviously they are much larger than your X-Wing, but maybe worth a try still?

I was thinking get a black china marker or oil pencil. Sharpen it to a fine as point possible and drawing on the scorch marks after wiping away 90% of the excess.
