New episode of Rebels--what do you think, Haven and anyone else that watches it?
I liked it so much that I watched it twice.

It was a little predictable, but Ezra's vision-quest-thingy was handled so much better than Luke's trip into the cave on Dagobah. It actually made sense what he was doing, and interestingly enough, Ezra seems to have succeeded, whereas Luke failed his. Not exactly sure what was going on with Yoda communicating with them, but I liked his conversations with both Ezra and Kanan.
I continue to dislike the way the inquisitor is animated, especailly his lightsaber fights, but I dig the voice acting. It has the right combination of sophistication and menace. Now, if only he didn't use such a ridiculous weapon....
...and on that note, I still haven't decided if I'm going to love or hate Ezra's lightsaber. As with the Inquisitor (and even Kanan) it feels like they're trying too hard--why does NO ONE have a traditional saber? Ezra's at least seems less likely to cut his own hand off, so there is that.
Vlad. Wow. You just need to stop posting.
It is literally impossible for me to agree more with every damn thing you said in your spoiler tag, and it's creeping me out.
Seriously, it's like you crawled in my head and served out all my thoughts on that episode with a ladle.
Quit it, Man. You're REALLY creeping me out.

I also like the fact that the episode was paced in a completely different way than any of the other episodes. In some ways, it seemed to me like a meditative rest in the story so far. Something about it was just so peaceful (probably interpreted as "boring" by much of the target audience) to me.
Are you (or anyone else) playing Transformers: Legends?
I saw someone with a Vlad-inspired screenname (and I kicked his ASS) and I was wondering if it was you. I know you're not the only person out there with "vlad" in his name, but it was just a thought.
For taking my original post on the subject in the manner intended, Flanders wins the thread.
That was how I took it at first as well. See my first posts, which was clearly intended to be humorous. But then your persistence about not washing hands kind of weirded me out.

As long as it wasn't the ladle used for junk re-pantsing...

Is that the digital card-game thingy? I was going to try that, but my friend already had it and his review was less than positive, so I decided not to bother. If you're endorsing it, though, I might give it a try after all.
I did get the ios version of knight of the Old Republic recently, though, and I'm having a lot of fun playing through that again. I just finished all the stuff on Taris, and it occurred to me that 95% of what you do on that planet (and what happens there in the comic series that takes place a few years earlier)
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
is rendered meaningless when Malak decides to blow the crap out of the whole damn planet. Hurray, you stopped a dude from being robbed.! ...And now he's probably dead anyway.

HEY, ALL! It appears as though Vlad is making the case that he won the entire thread a long time ago. I do not trust myself to make this judgement on my own. If you are so inclined, make the case for Flanders losing the title and it going to Vlad.
I am not endorsing TF: Legends. It's much like Clix. I recognize it for what it is, I'm roped in and I'm always looking for others to play as well.
TF-Wiki says they just want to take your money. I am content with what I am getting while spending NO money. I don't like the fact that it's a card-based game, but I'm getting over that with seeing all the pictures of G1 goodness.
It's free to download and start playing, though. So, if you like, give it a try.
If it's "much like Clix" then it is a kickass game that's a blast to play.
Sorry, Dude, this is certainly not my take on it.
Skip if you heard this one:
I was at my venue when guy behind the counter intentionally made a comment suggesting that X-wing was a much better game than HeroClix. He was surprised when the Clix Guys did not rankle at his comment. We told him that we agree.
I cannot, in honesty, suggest to anyone that they play HeroClix without giving them a laundry list of caveats that I think they need to know before getting involved in the game after hearing about it from me. I don't want to be the one responsible and have them come back to me saying, "Why did you suggest I play this game?"
Stuff that people outside the Clix world need to know before getting involved in the game:
1. You will, more than likely, not be able to play your favorite Superheroes and stand a decent chance of winning. The game is not balanced well. Overpowered pieces representing characters you've probably never heard of will win you games. The Fantastic Four will not.
2. The company who makes the game will not stand behind their product and replace it if it is defective.
3. The rules are convoluted and confusing. There is an addendum to the rules that I think is now actually the definition of one ream.
4. The rules mentioned above as well as the addendum are often changed.
5. This numbered list is the antithesis of cool.
I had this conversation with a coworker in the last week. She has a little brother who loves superheroes. He's been given some Clix that people saw at TRU. I told her all this and she asked me why I play the game, then. I said that I like superheroes, I've been playing the game since the beginning hoping that it will someday be that game it should be. Sometimes it's been better and sometimes it's been worse. I play with and interact with a bunch of guys that I've known, in some cases, since the game started. I have fun when I'm with them.
Yes, I'm aware of the fact that the above statement makes me look like everything from a total moron to a victim of spousal abuse.
2. Doesn't keep it from being a fun, kickass game.
3a. Only really matters in tournaments
3b. That's a common misconception, that's a reprint of the text of every special text on every card in the game. The actual errata is pretty small, especially considering the number of figs it covers.
4. Not that often, and again, only really matters in tournaments
X-Wing is a better game, at a mechanical level. But it's also much smaller, and will come to have problems as it grows. Clix's sprawl is also a lot of the appeal-- I'm not limited to a dozen or two ships plus upgrades, but literally thousands of characters. I love that.
Clix is fun. As a product and as a game, it has a ton of flaws. But it's really, really fun. Otherwise nobody would bother with the flaws.
I'll back that up until I die.
I've seen more to make the game unfun in the form of personalities than the actual game, and that's true for just about any game, even ones with cleaner rules or more balance.

I don't know, but I think we should all sit tight and wait for vlad to swoop in and set us straight on the matter.

I get where you're coming from. But, "only at tournaments" isn't exactly true in every situation. I'm not up on what is and isn't broken and to what degree, but it's totally possible to have a home game where someone makes a 300pt Avenger team and someone makes a 300pt AIM team and the AIM guys win by an overwhelming majority and not because of player mistakes or strange odds. (AIM and Avengers are just wild cards like "x" and "y" in algebra, and not to be taken as definitive statements.)
I appreciate the fact that you see that the game has flaws. For me, it's had fairly serious flaws since day one. For you, that may not be affected by whether or not they produce quality figures, quality stats, and quality rules. For me, it's been there since the beginning. Like I said, it's been better and it's been worse. I, personally, just don't feel like I can recommend the game to someone who will hold me responsible for introducing them to it without laying out a bunch of caveats.
Clix has been unbalanced since day one. X-wing was much better balanced right off the bat. The flaws of each game are separated by chasms from my point of view.
Strangely, I think I have a bit less fun playing X-wing because it's good. I find myself forcing myself to have fun while playing Clix in spite of the flaws. It brings out the wackiest side of my personality much like the surgeons in MASH.
