"Dude, you're caught. If you're not lynched today you'll be investigated tonight. Why don't we go ahead and set up a town friendly claim with your Power Cop power?"
"yeah, ok, I guess...let's do it if we can save another teammates bacon..."
Maybe that's just me, but I see how this reverse vouching could really be effective.
I think you should prove your other power with the quickness.

So you believe me to be a cop, not a reporter?
You think Nifty decided, with his dying breathe, to call a teammate a member of the opposing mafia when there were no other strong suspects, practically ensuring other players think his teammate is part of the opposing mafia?
You seem to think I'm scum, Roy. Care to weigh in on what mafia you think I'm a part of? I prefer a direct accusation.
I'm not currently voting for you. That being said, I don't think you're in the position to ask questions, nor do I think an answer from me would matter. Do I think you're scum? Yes, more likely than not. Do I know which flavor? Nope. Don't particularly care either.
Since I have seen that EXACT conversation take place on a Proboards once upon a time.....you nailed it

This is what I'm looking for.
A townie who incorrectly believes me to be mafia has a reason for doing so. They have an incorrect hypothesis.
However, a scummer doesn't care. They don't want to give exact reasons because their reasons are made up and can be argued against.
A scummer can just vote, not caring which of the mutually exclusive (in facts and reasoning) is believed as long as they can get a lynch on someone who isn't part of their crew.
So, vote or not, if you're going to call a townie like me scum, I'd suggest you explain yourself. If I get lynched, I advise the town to go after people accusing/voting for me without explaining themselves.

That would be a very poor move.
Fine with one mafia. Terrible move with two.
Nope.
Reporter.
Very possible that the reporters could have some form of power that resembles your "supposed" power set.
Remember that all of this information came out with Nifty who was scum. if you and he were in cahoots, then all of yesterday's information would need to be tossed out.

Also...Nifty calling a teammate "Fisk" wouldn't be a terrible idea at all.
It might actually work.
The Cop Mafia would want to keep that teammate alive as long as possible to keep the possibility alive, as far as the town is concerned, that Fisk is out there and isn't the actual scummer wearing that name.
The cops wouldn't dare kill that teammate in that case.

I knew you'd say that. I've stated my reasons why I think you're scummy. As a townie it doesn't matter if you're a reporter or a cop... I'm against both. To me, it doesn't matter (and honestly I don't have a strong leaning either way as it could just as easily be either). Even though I don't have a vote on you, I've given more reasoning as to why it might be than some of the others who just jumped on the pressure train.

Got my cops and reporters mixed up.
How many times have you seen a mafia info gatherer push to lynch an opposing mafia member or the serial killer to try to gain town cred? Happens constantly.
If Nifty and I were teammates, I'd be pissed that he put me on the table as a potential cop who should be investigated/blocked/vigged. I would have called him a liar and said that wasn't my power, knowing that doubling down on a lynch would create far more distance between us.

Your reasoning was incorrect and not specific to either faction.
The reasoning for me being a cop is: Nifty investigated me and thinks I'm a cop and was trying to make me a target.
The reasoning for me being a reporter is: Nifty threw shade on me to distance us because we are teammates by pretending to think I'm a cop.
The ideas are mutually exclusive. You can't possibly believe each story equally yet be sure I am scum. Doing so would be starting from the idea that JoH is scum, independent of evidence and that conclusion would only stem from an actual scummer.
