Still here. Have had a crazy couple days, though they've been very enjoyable. A carny story from the county fair yesterday, and a major gunstore fraud situation using my credit card. I'll update later...

Yesterday the family went to the country fair- buncha rednecks and scantily clad vastly overweight high school and middle school girls (CL woulda loved it!). I'm walking toward the ferris wheel side of the fair with my 4yr old daughter when this young gal comes running up "Hey mister, my mom has her hand crushed in our trailer and she sent me for help!" Yeah, sounds like a good way that a B movie might start, but she was being legit. Mom was a tattooed, burned-out looking blond carny woman who yanked her hand out of some awning rope trap, with part of her hand at about a 30degree angle from normal. Got her to at least sit down and sit still, then found a couple rent-a-security folks who had radios and started to help her. Me and the kid headed over to ferris wheel and meth head lizard display after she got help.

The weirder of the 2 stories is...

Balanced some finances this morning and immediately saw a huge red flag on my credit card bill. A gun shop in Missouri had a $3700 charge on it form a few days ago! Looked it up and it is called "Frontier Justice."Lots of god,guns, country stuff. Literally a slogan of "Faith, Family, Freedom" with Firearms just below it )

Called my credit card company to get charge stopped, and called the gunshop once they were open. Assumed that would be the end of it and was relieved when gunshop said that the purchase was NOT for several fraudulently obtained weapons.

When I got home from a morning bike ride and outdoor lunch with the family, I came home to find a nearly $4K "Nightforce" top of the line sniper scope. Match grade kinda scope. With somebody else's name on the delivery address, but my correct address! Called the local police department and they came out and ogled at the scope once we opened it up. Better than anything I ever saw in 22 years in the military, much of those with military police units that had some decent equipment! Cop took a fair interest in the info. Gun store asked me if I could bring it back! Being 1,000 miles away hampers this idea, so they are going to send shipping form for me to send it back.

So it was either a mule pickup that didn't synchronize right, or it was a very dumb "Marcia Shell" who ordered the scope with my info for her nutjob militia movement, and left my default address on the delivery?

When I imagine what it is like to live in Michigan, those two stories pretty much confirm my suspicions.

Hah! Yeah, pretty much. If the sniper scope ends up being part of a plot to kidnap the governor or fight the Commie Anarchist Fascist Jewish cabal pushing the vaccine then yes, that would cover Michigan pretty well. And it should include a walleye fisherman maybe.

Splurged last week on one of the clix I always wanted, the Captain Universe powered Deadpool figure from DXF. There was a pretty reasonable one on eBay so I bid $40 and got it plus the comic panel base.

It arrived yesterday and I was all excited to add it to the set. Opened the tote with the DXF set and put the card in the proper order...just to see that I already had one. Yep, sometime in the past 5 years or so I bought one and entirely forgot about it.
