Because then you could shorten it and be the UTB DB's.

Armadillos-- I like this, and not alot of teams have it as a mascot, but, Armadillos are more central texas than here so I am not sold
jaguarundi, not sure how this one appeared here, there are not native to here either, but it is an original mascot
Bull Sharks, there are Bull sharks down here, also I really like the idea of being the BSers...
Cavalry-- the school used to be a fort, and its most famous building is the cavalry, but almost everyone pronounces it "calvary"
Ocelot--- native to the region, endangered animal, but a local sports team already grabbed them.. so I dunno

I think Vaqueros and Toros are kinda stupid, its just corboys and bulls in spanish..
