Got a test at work around 2pm today from my wife telling me the kittens had knocked over a tub of clix and done some serious damage to my stuff in the basement. I dreaded going into the basement and checking.

The container that had What If, GotG2M, and Avengers-Defenders War had fallen about 5 feet to the ground. Loose on top of that container had been all the pieces from The Mighty Thor since I am still collecting that set. All smashed to the ground. ON the DC side, the Harley Quinn set, also loose on a container, was significantly ####ed, also.

Doing recovery operations by set.
Valkyrie SR, Nighthawk R, Batroc R are on the operating table now in the basement, with a few more ADW figs needing fixed. What If came out OK< with 3 of the cheaper figs coming up missing, all of which I could replace.

TMT- Groot Thor has both arms torn off, several Rs and such with damage, but could be worse.

HQ- Doc Mid-Nite is fudged, just one day after I committed my extra to a trade. Catwoman Bombshell is a mess also, but I think I can fix her tomorrow.
Several model kits got knocked off too, but only the CH-54 Tarhe kit is unsalvageable. God-darn cats!!!!!!!!

Have you considered keeping mice as pets as they're not as powerful?

That being said, I am inches away from selling all of my Marvel clix which is every clix out there up until the Deadpool set. All non-DC clix are going too.

I'm in full blown mid-life crisis mode. What's important to me is changing daily. I don't want to be burdened with a nerd collection that requires a whole house to store.

I thought about keeping one version of each Marvel character but that's too much to collate, consider, maintain, store. It all goes.

Honestly, I'd almost like to be free of the DC clix as well, but I love Kite Man, Killer Moth, and Eclipso just too much.

I'm also going to purge nearly every comic book, statue, and toy. Its too much. I can't take it with me. I don't want my loved ones when I die sitting in a pile of my crap not knowing what's valuable and what isn't.

Basically, I am only keeping my DC clix, X-Wing, a collection of DC archive editions and two small 40K armies. Everything else in my life is on the chopping block.

Dang CL, that would be kind of sad. But I can totally understand the urge. The dozens of long boxes of comics, and thousands of $$ worth of clix are likely just going to keep piling up. Meanwhile, the urge to downsize and unclutter fights against the law of inertia to keep collecting comics and clix. I wish you well, and I may follow in your wake depending on how it goes.


Speaking of clix...baby got me up at 4:30am and I was pretty much up anyway, so I just got up after putting her back to sleep. Continued my salvage project on clix. Fixed a few more broken clix, and found a few more pieces that had been broken off and scattered. The cats evidently hate the Wrecking Crew as Thunderball and the Wrecker are not going to ever look correct again. Groot Thor may come out okay. Valkyrie SR and Nighthawk R from ADW may look almost 100%, but Batroc will also forever be scarred

Dr Mid-Nite and Catwoman from HQGG are a mess. Unfortunately I just committed to a trade with Dr Mid-Nite in it, so I had to pack up my good one.
