I wouldn't blame you. My position at this time has me generally working until 8PM every day I'm scheduled and I don't get many Sundays off. If I get this new position, I'll be making my own schedule so I won't have to work many Sundays if I don't want to. This will also be vital with the baby on the way.

Yea, honestly all I had to do was just keep using Hypersonic with Metron and attack from range and he could never keep up with me I almost got one shotted by MODOK, but I was able to run off on my last click, got to the clicks on the gauntlet where I could choose my power...kept choosing regen until I got fully healed then started pounding away with Hypersonic...

No offense Wade, but if you were running Metron with the gauntlet I probably would have passed on playing with you. Doesn't excuse being annoying, but I don't blame him for not being on board with that game.

It was a three way battle not one on one. Only three people showed up, including the Judge.

Personally speaking, it shouldn't matter what one's opponent fields. Is the build legal by way of the event? That's all that matters.

Well the problem is that we lost a lot of our player base recently. Though we gained one, but he can't play when we normally play during the week and the weekends don't work for most other people. I wasn't sure who all was going to show up which was why I brought the team I did because out of our two venues, only one is still going to be getting the IG event stuff. It was possible for 5 people plus the Judge to show up so recently I have been playing cheesier teams during the IG stuff only just to give myself higher odds of getting the pieces. Plus it was the first time I even played that team hell first time I ever played Metron at that even though I've had him sitting around for, what, a year and a half now? I don't even think I need to justify any teams I bring to begin with anyways...I want to be able to have fun as well not just sit there playing 300 points of nurses or something to make other people happy -_-;.

I'm thinking this will be the next team I field:

Cap Mr Hyde + IG with Soul and Power Gems
GF Klaw x2
HoT Moonstone

297 points, MoE Theme Team. Hyde can push at will each turn, gaining in strength and turning the IG, while the Klaw brothers and Moonstone run interference.

Given the context though, being a free-for-all instead of the event because not enough people showed up, personally I probably would have dropped out. The team is absolutely legal, but if the actual event isn't there to be had, I'm not in any way obligated to play against something that I find objectionable. Complaining about it is not the right thing to do, but expecting someone to not give you any crap about bringing Metron+gauntlet to a casual game is a little unreasonable. Like I say, it doesn't excuse the guy's behavior, but it does make it a little more understandable.

You absolutely don't have to justify your teams. Just don't expect people to be happy about them all the time. And if you can have fun playing Metron, more power to you I guess.

I'm inclined to agree for tournaments, but if there's no tournament going on I'm not convinced of the merits of carrying it over to casual games. Kind of defeats the purpose. Maybe that's just a product of me playing a lot of Commander (a casual Magic format with a really broken card list that maintains balance mostly through local self-regulation), but I'm not convinced playing a casual game against Nighttron is doing any favors for anyone. Of course things are different when you were expecting a tournament and might not have a suitable casual team on hand, but as a general rule I'm not willing to sit through a "for fun" game that someone is taking way too seriously.
