I'm inclined to agree for tournaments, but if there's no tournament going on I'm not convinced of the merits of carrying it over to casual games. Kind of defeats the purpose. Maybe that's just a product of me playing a lot of Commander (a casual Magic format with a really broken card list that maintains balance mostly through local self-regulation), but I'm not convinced playing a casual game against Nighttron is doing any favors for anyone. Of course things are different when you were expecting a tournament and might not have a suitable casual team on hand, but as a general rule I'm not willing to sit through a "for fun" game that someone is taking way too seriously.
Yeah, I agree that there is a difference between casual and tournament play. But in the case above, the guy came for a tournament for an IG event, which tends to be more competitive than average, and then boo-hoo'ed because Wade brought a highly competitive team. That's where I say, "Man up, and play against the team without whining." Or, if you can't deal with other people bringing competitive teams, maybe competitive tournaments aren't your thing. There's nothing wrong with sitting out one event and coming back the next week, or just sticking to casual play.

Right, and like I said there's a difference if you come expecting one event and get another. But they weren't actually playing an IG event, they were playing a free-for-all instead because they didn't get enough people for the event. Do I think the guy still would have whined if the tournament had gone on as planned? Yes, I do. I bet he would have whined more, honestly. But it would have changed how I would have reacted to the situation (playing against the team because it's to be expected in that sort of environment, vs. declining having to deal with it). I don't back up whining in a game under any circumstances, but I do have a little sympathy for people playing against Metron grudgingly outside of a tournament setting.

This. Unquestionably THIS.
Folk can rationalize it all they want, it doesn't change the fact that Wade had to play a crybaby.

But I guess the venue will have one extra Champion when the prize support comes in...from what I understand they are shipping everything she ordered together so not sure when that is going to be. (The judge gets one, I get one, then the cry baby gets one).
Also does the Avengers Gravity feed figures come with HCO codes as well or just the Batman ones?
