I'd been listening to a ton of The Shadow's old radio shows recently, so I could not help but to rent the movie from '94 and watch it tonight. It wasn't very good to begin with and time has not made it better, but it does take on a certain quaint sort of aspect considering that 30 Rock and a multitude of SNL appearances have forever skewed how I see Alec Baldwin.
Also, I had completely forgotten Ian McKellen was in this movie.
Frozen.
I think there were some neat aspects to it, but overall I did not like it very much. I could have lived without the singing trolls in particular.

The antidote to that experience would be The Phantom, because any movie that features both Billy Zane *and* Treat Williams is a magical thing.
My wife and daughter drug me to go see the new Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore flic called Blended. Was a bit better than I thought it would be...still not much of a Sandler fan, but quite a bit of humor in this movie. I'm gonna give it a 2&3/4 bag of popcorn out of 5.
I had a few minor gripes, but truth be told I loved it. It's actually the first X movie I've seen in the theater since X-men 3 after that soured me (I saw the others just not in theater).

Saw Frozen. Really liked it, but Arundel has a weaponized monarch for a ruler. This is possibly a bad thing, like making Superman into the President.
It's interesting, I was watching it (for the like 1,000th time with my daughter) the other day and noticed this: at the very beginning, when Elsa's dad pulls the book out with the map to the troll lands, there's a picture of a troll casting over the prone form of what appears to be a fully grown man in a crown. Some ancestor of Elsa's must have also had the power (we also know she was born with it), and given the fear that people display later, it's very possible that his rule didn't go so well for the populace of Arendale.
Watched "Birth of the Living Dead" last night and loved it. Great little documentary on the legacy and making of "Night of the Living Dead," and it reminded me why NOTLD is my favorite movie of all time.
And it also explores the most costly title change in film history.
