Thursday 24/10/2013 - Mad Monday (Thursday?) or Clothes Make the (Super)Man
400 points, 4 figure min., golden age. Team consists of figs that are dressed similarly (i.e all in lab coats, clowns, school girl outfits, ninjas).
Forgot to mention, strict highlander rules apply, ie no multiple versions of the same character.
Tights do not count as similar, nor do capes alone.
Giant popped collars on those capes though? Hell yes!
Fellowship goes to best dressed, as voted by you, the players!
Thursday 07/11/2013 - Fear Itself is still a thing, apparently (#5)
Make a 300pt team from Fear Itself figures you already own, then buy a booster of Fear Itself and add another 300pts of figures to the team you have brought. 4 actions only!
I don't understand the question? Do you mean for Fear Itself Month 5?
As I said in the original post:

500pts FI Sealed. Buy two boosters of FI and build a 500pt team.
It has all built up to this. The player with the most overall event points at the end of the Month 6 fear itself tournament will be going home with the Serpent Colossal figure, and the three highest scoring players on the winning side will get the Nul LE.
Being a Fear Itself event, obviously Book of the Skulls, the Hammers and the ATAs are allowed.
Any questions? Please ask.
Cheers,

Reason: clarification
Fear Itself is over, and the results are as follows. Congratulations to the overall winner, and to the winning side

Overall event winner was Matt who took home the snake.. I mean Serpent Colossal LE.

5. Thomas 25
6. MODOC 16
7. Jay 15
8. Adam 4

10. Taasi 4
11. Terry 3
Congratulations to all who took part, and thank you for making the Thursday Fear Itself events a success. Good luck to everyone for the Sunday event as well.
Thursday December 5th - So Comic Book accurate it hurts!
Thursday December 5th - 6:30 pm
1000pt Golden Age, 5 actions. Comic Book Cover accurate.
Make a team based on the cover of a comic book. You must be able to argue that all characters, feats, resources and objects, besides standard objects, appear on the cover, and you need to show a copy of that cover when submitting your team sheet, whether on a smart phone or through a printed copy.
Yes, this does mean that I will allow ninjas on pretty much any team, as my spot check is not that high.
Edit: Just realised I didn't specifically mention ATAs. You can use any ATA that the character would be eligible for, with the standard limit of only one ATA allowed.
Bonus brownie points if you bring a physical copy of the comic in to show!
The JLA/Avengers crossover covers cannot be used for this format as it would make things too easy.
Any questions? Ask away!
Two weeks after that, Thursday 19th December, 400pts Iron Man sealed! (depending on stock obviously)
Cheers,

Reason: forgot to mention ATAs and stuff
People asked me to put this up here as well as the Facebooks.
Game format is :-
*** COMIC BOOK ACCURATE ***
- 500pts Silver Age (Modern Age rules but any age figures)
- No team bases
- No figure bases above 2x4
*** COMIC BOOK ACCURATE ***
First choice of prizes will go to the best team as voted by the fellow players, second choice will go to the Winner, the third choice will go to fellowship and the next to the players in order.
People have asked me for some clarification as to what is meant by ‘Comic Book Accurate’.
The quick up-shot is bring a few teams just in case you are not allowed to play one.
Comic Book accurate is a catch-all expression meant to represent teams which could conceivable be seen together in a given issue of a comic.
A rough guide is that most (though not all) non-generic theme teams should be comic accurate. For instance anyone who has the Justice League International keyword would be fine on a ‘comic book accurate’ team. Same with Green Lantern Corps (maybe not the Alan Scott LE), same with Shadowpact, same with Dark Avengers.
This is not true in every case. The Avengers as a keyword covers a lot of ground, from their very early days right up to the present. So, if you had the Hulk, I’d expect to see Iron Man, Ant-Man, the Wasp, and Thor. Not Cap – the Hulk had left when he joined – and certainly not Dr Druid, Tigra or Ronin. If you can bring an actual comic book along (or Wikipedia entry) that proves your team build (and proves me wrong) fantastic; your team build stands.
It doesn’t have to be comics – you could do a movie or TV. If you put movie hulk together with movie Cap in an Avengers team (with the rest) then fine. If anyone makes a Batman:The Brave and Bold team with Batman, Batmite, Aquaman, the Atom, etc (etc within bounds) – perfect, I’ll even give you a little golf clap.
You can have ersatz figures representing characters who have not been made. They must be within reason – accurate to sculpt and/or dial and/or character.
Ersatz teams …
That is, strictly speaking, another format – the ersatz one, or ‘make a team using figures from another universe’ one, or ‘have a common theme’, or etc. Matt once played a circus freaks team with the Joker, the Ringmaster, the Blob, etc – a great fun team. All villains, all circus freaks/circus folk in some way, fine but not comic book accurate – the Joker is not even in the same universe as the Blob for instance. A really, really good ersatz team will be allowed if it is great and doesn’t break too many ‘comic book accurate’ rules. Who is to be the judge of that, well I am. Jay once played a great Sonic the Hedgehog team – but they were all flashes, or variations thereof, so he could have played it as a flash team
Resources are comic book accurate – Magneto cannot have the Utility Belt. There were only eight characters who picked up the various hammers. There have only been a few wielders of the infinity gauntlet.
Just because they were in the same comic book does not mean comic book accurate. Odin and the Serpent were in a comic book together. They did not work and play well together, they were enemies they were not ‘comic book accurate’. Same with Batman and the Joker, Superman and Braniac, Ironman and The Mandarin. Yes, they have teamed up on occasions – so if you have the specific team-build from a specific comic when they were actually working together – then go ahead.
Just to point out that Hulk is currently running around in Avengers comics with Captain America 8)
