Saw Edge of Tomorrow and 22 Jump Street over the weekend.
Edge of Tomorrow was really good. Tom Cruise may be crazy, but he's a damn fine actor. I think the ending was too happy, but that is my only complaint.
22 Jump Street was hilarious. I love that it was able to make fun of itself. A comedy is supposed to make me laugh and this movie succeeded in that regard.

[quote=Rurouni KJS;7995776]I don't like Cruise, either. Tired of him always playing The Most Awesome Guy In The Room™ no matter what film he's in. It must be in his contract or something. But that hasn't stopped the last three films I've seen him star in (Ghost Protocol, Jack Reacher and now Edge of Tomorrow) from being great entertainment.
It was co-star Emily Blunt and director Doug Liman who were the actual draws to EoT, though, for me.
This ^^^^^^^^^^^all the way....complete agreement. Enjoyed watching Edge.
Recently saw The Guard (2011). Stars Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle, Mark Strong and etc. It's about an unconventional Irish police man (Gleeson) who doesn't care about stopping a half-billion dollar cocaine delivery but still thinks he should arrest those folks for murder. It's dark humor with brilliant script and characters. Loved it and would recommend it to you guys.
Saw Insidious it was better then I thought it was going to be but the whole last act was kinda predictable once "Night Owl" found out about his repressed memories.
It was OK. Justin Timberlake is not a bad actor, but he's sure not an Oscar worthy guy just waiting to happen either. Affleck was a complete douche, and played it to a T.
Eddie Murphy: Delirious
I hadn't watched this in like 20 years. Forgot about the homophobic and racist comments in it. Wow. Still pretty hilarious though (You aint go no ice cream).
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........
Just saw Transformers: Age of Extinction. Everything you'd expect to see in a Michael Bay film is present. From the enormous cache of ammunition and bad@ss weapons to the biggest explosions, from hot cars to hot chicks, from the stunning special effects to magnificent scenery (or made-up background), from the awesome (can either be "Wow!" or "BS!") actions to cheesy emo-baiting scenes, from weak plots to bad dialogues, name it, and it's there. It's simply just another M. Bay movie. It's gonna make money, create some buzz... both positive and negative, and it's gonna sell toys.
After all the movies with incredible special effects that I've seen the past years, I gotta hand it to Bay's team, they still wowed me in that category. But for the first time in my watching M. Bay movies, I actually got bored in the middle of an intense battle. It just felt dragging and mechanical (pun not intended), repetitive... at least that's how I felt. And before I forgot, I also got a bit bored in a couple of non-intense action scenes. And Bumblebee for lack of better words felt like he wasn't there.
Just saw How To Train A Dragon Pt 2....was pretty good, not great buy very enjoyable, course I am not generally a big animated fan. Best ones I thought I have ever seen, not in any order....Lion King, Bugs Life, Up, Over the Hedge, Frozen. The trailer for the new Penguins of Madagascar movie looks to be good.
Finally saw Godzilla last night. The complaints people make are fair, but also not really necessary. I liked it. Could it have used more monsters? Sure. Less humans? Abso-damn-lutely. But I really enjoyed the constant buildup.

The fact that Iron Giant and anything by Miyazaki don't make that list leads me to believe that you must not be familiar with them.
Saw Xmen Days of Futures Past. One of the best Xmen movies hands down. A few things I'm not sure of though, if anyone feels they can answer, then by all means
1) how do you die and still come back in a wheelchair?
Prof x is very important to the the universe, and after he was just flatout killed in Last Stand, everyone just kind of shook their heads. At the end of first class however, we see The prof has transferred his mind into another body. Unless the body had no use of its legs, I still don't see why he isn't able to walk?
2) magneto
The whole break in scene was cool and all, but what was the purpose of needing to find magneto? It could have saved a lot of time not finding him.
3) The sentinels
I understand the sentinels were able to change shape due to a certain character I don't to spoil, but how are they able to get different powers? The character I am talking about has never been known to be able to do that.

Showed the boy Mystery Men tonight. I still enjoy its silliness and I have to admit I think a sequel after all this time would be amazing if they could get everyone back together...
