This reminds me of my college days. I had a class called History of Math. It was taught by a guy with religious views which were, um, off of the beaten path. It was an offshoot of Christianity, but it had some unconventional practices. He would perform exorcisms on animals and such.

So we were learning of ancient cultures' mathematical systems. As you all know, we have a ten-based counting system. The Babylonians had a 60-based system. We learned about the system itself, but we also learned the reason that they had this system was because they were sinners and had been cursed by God to have six fingers and six toes.

That class was time well spent.

Yeah, but who really wants to take the extra 1.5 seconds to say eight fingers and two thumbs" instead of "ten fingers"? In theory, that extra 1.5 seconds doesn't seem like it should be a big deal, but we are a lazy species. Black and white aren't technically colors like red and blue, but it makes conversations flow better to just lump them all in together.

Did Animal Man get arrested and sent to prison for molesting a seven year old girl? The guy I was talking about did.

I'm pretty sure Animal Man did not, in fact, get arrested for said crime.
So, it stands to reason that they are not the same person.
