Stephen Strange runs frightened by the guns of the Punisher, notorious for his hatred of witches. The Punisher follows, into an old cemetary.

"Come out, come out wherver you are," he yells to the seemingly frightened mage.

Suddenly the ground trembles. Arms reach out of the dirt and grab a hold of him.

"You call yourself the Punisher, " Strange says, "I will be the instrument of yours. Your final punishment that is."

Punisher's eyes widen in disbelief. His yells are mixed in the eerie winds as the bodies from the graveyard pull him into the ground to be buried alive. The skeletons of witches he himself killed pull the hardest and scream with voiceless words.

"A fitting end to you, sir, " Strange acknowledges. Unlike the mage of the 21th century, this man's life of persecution allows no mercy.

I may have an edge, but say what you will, this has been one of our more even games.

Torquemada's Leadership is a 6 - don't think I can use it but it's there.

The inquisitor reached into his robes and pulled out a pistol. "Now, while this 'Alchemist' is occupied, I have my chance. I would prefer to bring him to trial, but seeing what he has done to Judge Fire and the others, it is too dangerous to give him that chance." He fired a shot, and the Alchemist doubled over, wounded in the stomach. Painfully he stumbled back.

Meanwhile, the white-cloaked figure appeared next to Dr. Strange.

"It may be difficult to believe, but you're fighting on the wrong side. Morgana, Diablo, the Green Goblin, they're evil, but you - you're a hero."

"You try to confuse me with your words, but I know evil when I see it, and yon intolerant priest is it."

Moon Knight wished he could argue.

Wow . Diablo is weakened, Wanda can't do squat but now Moon Knight can eliminate Strange, the only good news is that Moony can't tag Strange this round since he can't push, this won't last long. Anyhoo I'll post tomorrow.

The Green Goblin's hurt a little, but still very much in this too. And catching Strange is going to give me conniptions! With his 17DV and ESD he's got a 19 defense at range, and he's got phasing, so basing him for a close combat attack will be tough since he doesn't have to roll breakaway. Especially with no fliers on my force to taxi someone up.

Since Moon can't do anything right now to Doc I'll leave him be.

Goblin will attack Kraven. Needs 11, rolls 9. Wanda's rerol lis 8. Under other circumstances those would be good...

Kravenoff walks with the night winds. He is like an animal that way. Normally this would serve to hide him however...

"Kravenoff.." Green Goblin grits his teeth, "Do you remember me?".

"Fool. Of course, I watched in the jury as your verdict to die was given. And I volunteered to hunt you down in these fields."

"Kravenoff, the hunter, yes that is your reputation. Do you remember hunting down a wife and boy accused of witchcraft?".

Kravenoff squints his eyes.

"The boy surrendered when you caught him. You maimed him as he tried to escape. He was paralyzed and had to be tied to the wood that make his fire."

Kravenoff looks disinterested.

"His name was Harold. He was 11 years old."

"And a warlock...and guilty. Your point, madman?"

"Do you remember his mother?".

"Yes...I killed her as she escaped."

"And...you took advantage of her. As Harold was made to watch...your beastliness...".

Kravenoff chuckles. "How would you know this, goblin?"

"Haorld was my son. He told me of the horrors efore he died. In a way, you helped make me the man I am today."

Suddenly the Green Goblin launches into a maniacal attack with a knife. His strength is inhuman but Kravenoff quickly regains his equilibrium.

Wanda uses her power to separate the two for fear that Green Goblin would be killed in his weakened state.

Not much for me to do but have a severaly weakened Judge Fire attack Strange. Can't touch him without a 12, but why not? And 4 won't do it.

The Alchemist rustles with some potions at ground level. Within seconds Judge Fire is aflame in his own fire. The Huntress runs to aid her ally but it's too late, he's gone and the fire burns at her too. Only the cold October pond spares her from severe burns.

Leadership: Torquemada rolls 3

First we'll give Kraven a breakaway attempt. It's a 3. Well, it was nice knowing him.

Moon Knight to T6

Torquemada attacks Strange AV10 on DV17 +2, needs a 9. He rolls 5. Well that ain't gonna do it.

Magdalena tries as well. Same stats, needs same roll. Ah ha. She gets the 9. So Strange will take 2.

Huntress will try to follow it up. AV9 on DV15, needs 6. She gets 11. Strange takes 3 more.

Sometimes one lucky roll is all it takes...

Forgot - Scarlet Witch hadn't used her PC yet. She can't see Magdalena, but she can see HUntress. Reroll of her attack is a 6. Same result.

Moon Knight cursed as Dr. Strange cast a spell allowing himself to pass harmessly past the Avenger. As he floated through the air over the others to the roof of the cottage, Torquemada yelled, "the warlock! Do not allow him to flee!"

The inquisitor himself took a wild shot with a pistol which went wide. Magdalena's more controlled attack had better luck. Her throwing knife caught Strange in the chest, missing his heart by inches. Huntress saw her opportunity and followed up Magdalena's knife with a crossbow bolt, which struck the mage in the thigh.

Moon Knight regarded Strange's plight sadly. "Oh Strange, why did you have to run away," he thought to himself. "I could have gotten you out of here safely." After Hellboy's attack, he knew he'd never be able to get to Strange up on the roof in time. With regret he turned and went to head off Diablo instead. At least he could get one evil wizard out of this time.

Bummer. I made some dumb butt moves in this game but moving Dr. Strange there, where I thought he could attack with only Huntress as a threat, was foolish.

I'll post a reply tonight. I was hoping this would last until Halloween but that was naive, I doubt this game will last the weekend. Time to turn to new ideas for some reason I am not able to get started on that ongoing one, even though I think it's a good idea.
