fantastic forces is shaping up to be interesting, way more than legacy.
sub-mariner is a nice change, a super strength charge piece that can do something else: flurry!
disbanded: hells yes, my friends, hells yes.
shake off: it might work...we'll see.
the pogs don't impress me, i like generic figs more...spening more than 7 or 8 points on something with ONE click of life just seems like a waste to me(except colleen wing...woot!)
BTW, the new U doctor doom is posted in the figure gallery. he's...all right. i guess. he's tailor made for the super nova feat, and i dislike the idea of making figs for specific feats.
i would say more but you really should see for yoursellves...

...man, you might say, is nature dreaming... -Jeffers Floronic Man reigns supreme!
Clixathon SuperCap 12/3/11
I love the fact that Generic figs are being replaced by pogs. I would much rather have named characters filling up fig slots in my box then "Wild Sentinels"....
However, I do mourn the loss of Hydra,AIM, and SHIELD Ops as well as Skrulls and Krees. Unfortunate that we do not see them anymore, especially since most of them are retired.
Considering that a good deal of figs have damage reducers, Shake Off isn't gonna be as good as people are making it out to be, unless people also wanna invest 10 points into Armor Piercing...

Yeah, I was going to point out the same thing. Phasing IS FAQed to specify that Phasing characters "automatically break away."
Simply saying that a character ignores the effect of opposing characters on movement doesn't mean they automatically break away; for instance, the rules state that hovering characters' movement aren't affected by opposing characters, but they still have to make break away rolls.
Aha, missed that little FAQ tidbit... makes you wonder why L/C and P/T aren't more similarly worded on the PAC.
Okay, so Lockjaw's all over this one with the Armor Piercing, wow. Take the full-dial Phasing vet. for 38pts, add the feats, and for 58pts (or less if you prefer exp. or rookie) you have a fig that does at least 1 damage breaking away and can do another minimum 1dmg during his move. Add the fact that he can do this and carry another fig, and... wow, just wow.
It's too bad all this potential is given to one of the most moronic ideas for a character in the Marvel universe...
I was getting pretty excited about this set until I saw Disbanded. I can understand the desire to stop wild card abuse, but that could have been done without doing such damage to the true theme teams. A card called Full Roster could prevent any team abilities from being copied. This would stop wildcard abuse without hurting the guy who wants to play an all FF team or an all JSA team. No matter what wizkids says about wanting to make the game more fun for the theme players, this card shows their true feelings: clix is for the power gamers.
Well, HeroClix's tendency towards power gaming is already evident in the Team Abilities. My friends and I only play in friendly games, and tend to play heroes vs. villains. The villains, no matter what the scenario, almost universally get destroyed. Why? Because the hero team abilities are so vastly superior to the villainous team abilities. Batman provides un-Outwittable Stealth, and Ultimates/Superman means the villains can't hide. Villains get Superman Enemy, which is good, and CSA, which is awesome but only has two characters that can use it. Others, like Batman Enemy, are good in theory but poor in execution (so few of Batman Enemy characters have a decent attack, so it's sort of a moot point).
Heroclix is not a game designed for players who are into comics; it's a strategy game with a comic book theme.

This is by accident rather than design. The Thunderbolts card seems to have been designed to appeal to theme team players. The fact that it's more of a gift to power-gamers was unintended, it seems. The game has weak design which creates these problems and weak playtesting which lets them see print. The power-gamers and sharks then abuse the game and the organised play team does little to prevent them. It's like a legal justice system which favours the criminals rather than the victims of crime. What's then needed are vigilante heroes to restore the balance. Cue Brazil!
