Uh, I think your answer is right there. How hard is it to build a team, knowing exactly what teams you are going up against? We had one guy (yeah, an adult) who would try to do this. It got to the point, that people wouldn't even show off what they brought to play, until he showed up and had his team built. I'd advise this to the other players at your venue.
How comon is it for people to build their team at the tournament?
I've seen this practice at a few venues.
I've always brought a team with rather than luggin my entire collection.

I have one adult doing this as well. For the most part its in casual games, but you should have seen his face when we went to the regionals and he was staring down 52 probabe competitors, LOL! It was fantastic.

I don't know how common it is....guys still do it at our venue, but they're not doing it after seeing everyone else's teams. There's nothing wrong with building at the tourney, it's just in bad sportsmanship to do it after seeing what everyone else is playing.

LOL! Kinda hard to build after seeing all that, huh?

I've seen players build their teams right before the tourney before, but it wasn't done after scoping out the teams of others. Everyone at our venue brings thier teams in a box of some sort, and usually leaves them there until the games begin. It wouldn't even occur to me to bring every figure I own to every tourney. I've been collecting Heroclix since Infinity Challenge, so bringing it all would be quite a feat. It's certainly more trouble than it's worth to do so.
about Fantastic Forces, although Cain Marko whups incredible @$$,
am i the only one incredibly irate over the fact that there are
48 missing pieces in a booster case that still has the SAME
PRICE TAG...??????
or the fact that a single pack booster draft will now COMPLETELY $U
the shortage of pieces??
Bravo wizkids. blind people with a 'free' galactus and they all forget
all the money you're powning us for.
BTW Bring back Super Rares!!!!!! as different pieces at least.

Oh these are all still up front in my mind as well.
I'm actually on the verge of quitting because it's getting too costly to "keep up".
Unless its a really complex scenario (300pt all capes, 600pt one universe) I normally just bring my case, in it is a full R/E/V/U set of Indy, an almost full R/E/V of Mutant Mayhem some legacy and other singles I like. Then I build my team there (without looking)
When we created Marvel HeroClix: Fantastic Forces, we decided to try something new. Many of you indicated in surveys and feedback to us that you didn’t always feel the paint jobs on your HeroClix figures were up to your expectations. Therefore, with Fantastic Forces, we experimented with using a different factory, and the results are incredible: HeroClix figures have never looked better!
i wonder if this was written BEFORE looking at the figure dials...?
sure the sculpts look tres bien, but why do i now need a flourescent
pocket-lamp to tell the difference between impervious and invulnerability???
and WHY do all the rings on the LEs look like someone held them with their
index and thumb over the base while painting the gold ring???
when i find that person with stripes of gold paint across their fingers........
